The player has no intention of going anywhere and wants to work his way into the starting XI at his current club, Tottenham.

Another waste of money, who seemingly no one else wants to spend money on. Capoue and Paulinho possibly the dullest midfield of recent years.

To be honest, in his few appearances earlier this season, I thought Capoue looked ok and thought with more match time he'd prove a lot of people wrong.

Wasn't he also rumoured as one of the problem players too, having a go at Kane?

It was always rumoured there were 3 players involved in the Kane / Bentaleb argument but the only 2 names ever appearing were Adebayor and Kaboul, both of whom then were missing for a game or 2 for 'Personal reasons' and then when back were on the bench.

As to the 3rd player, I've never seen anything at all so could be him I suppose??

Might end up as a half decent CB, not good enough to be an influential midfielder.

I'd be quite happy for Capoue to stay. Probably in a minority on that one but he's been very good for us when given a run in the team and looked very good with Mason in pre season. If he really wants to fight for his place that's fine by me.

I don't know anything about this, please elaborate on the "Bentaleb/Kane argument.

I seem to have completely missed this story - what was it all about?

Capoue may say he wants to stay, but i imagine its because he's not going to get the contract that genius Baldini agreed to give him outside of Spurs.

Unless someone can find the 'fast-forward' button, then he should be sold. He's perilously slow & his distribution is awful. There's nothing about him that inspires me to think he will be a success at Spurs, or in the Premier-League.

Sorry, but Capoue is Ca-sh*t.
(wanted to say that for a while :) )

I seem to have completely missed this story - what was it all about?

I think it was following the 1-2 home defeat to Stoke in November when Adebayor openly criticised the home support, in the week following that there were rumours there had been a training bust up with 3 'more senior players' suggesting that the double training sessions were the root cause.

Obviously these sessions have since become quite well publicised in the following few weeks, but it was something along the lines of these 3 players felt they were having a negative impact on the teams performance.

It emerged that Ade and Kaboul were 2 of the 3 and that Kane and Bentaleb stuck up for Poch's sessions and that they agreed with the sessions, because this is what they were used in the development squads, and following abit of a slanging match the younger players got the backing of the remainder of the squad, most notibly Lloris, Vertonghen and Lennon.

It was then the following few games where Kaboul missed due to "Personal reasons" and Ade went completely off the radar before he too dissapeared with "Personal reasons" and soon went back home due to JuJu issues.

Kaboul missed 2/3 games before appearing on the bench again and has never properly returned at CB as he was prior this time, with Fazio and more recently Dier starting ahead of him, and on the few occasions he has played, most notibly for me against Burnley, he had a shocker and that was also when Verts and Vorm were quite open in their opinion of him.

There were only afew comments about this but I know something was said on MotD about them both, Ade and Kaboul, at some point.

I've had similar conversations with other season ticket holders at the matches during this period as well as seeing afew comments on here too...I'm sure of it....or am I going mad? o_O

Good guy. Redeemed him self as far as I'm concerned when it comes to off pitch attitude. The bottom line is, he is the best tackler & interceptor among our CMs.

I blame @thinktank

He harped about players wanting to come play for Pochettino, but he neglected to mention the downside of players not willing to leave the squad...

Interesting - thanks for the summary - not sure how I completely missed a lot of that going on!

Thanks for that. Interesting that it is both our captain and vice captain that are struggling and that vertonghen and loris, more obvious choices for leadership roles appear to be looking after the younger players.
