Lo Celso, not even close for me.

I literally have no f*cking idea. I've only ever seen highlight reels of both.

I'm pleased you guys have seen them, because I bloody haven't and I bet you there are plenty on here making very firm statements that haven't either (definitely not getting at you, but you know what I mean)

I personally think we should be going for Bruno instead Lo Colso this window, mainly because of his goals and assists which would massively improve us as an attacking force to Liverpool and Man City levels.

I literally do not know enough about either of them to make a comparison

I only went by Wikipedia and youtube and think Bruno is the more attacking of the two 31 all comps vs 16 goals last season but different leagues so not easy to compare I guess. In an ideal world we get £40 million for Lamela, N`koudu and Janssen and buy them both for a combined £100m

I'd suggest Lo Celso is operating in a tougher/superior league than that of Fernandes.

Whilst not utilised by Poch as much In recent times, Lo Celso understands 'the press'. Betis are very good at winning the ball back quickly, and this was very evident when they went toe to toe with Barca at the camp Nou and beat them at their own game winning 4-3.

Fernandes might well translate his form into the prem, but for me, I think Lo Celso is probably less of a risk.

Onions, that's all.

Cheers. The difference in leagues was doing it for me as obviously Spain is tougher than Portugal. But the press makes sense from a Poch POV

Got any comparative stats, you dirty rascal?

Bruno Fernandes in league and Europa league: 41 apps; 23 goals 14 assists
Lo Celso in la liga and Europa league: 39 apps; 14 goals 5 assists

Big difference in the teams they play for and the stature in respective league.

Bruno won Primera League player of the year in 17/18 and is favorite to win it again this year as he had 9 more goals and 5 more assists this year. In comparison to Lo Celso he's about 18 months older.

Those stats are incredible for Europa league. The counter is that maybe Lo Celso is more of an all rounded CM and maybe that’s what we’re going after.

Otherwise this guys looks shit got from what I can tell

One interesting note is that Fernandes has just played for Sporting since 2017. He played in Italy before that.

Personally think this guy would be a flop over here. Just a vibe I get from him. He's clearly talented but I wonder if the pace and physicality of our league would eat him up.

Lo Celso on the hand looks pretty tenacious and combative as well as talented, I think he'd be much more suited to us, and seems Poch does too.

I think it would be easier to compare the quality of the goals and assists instead of the competition. You can also compare if those sort situations from which he is dangerous are similar to the ones we get in our system.

Seen him live last year against the team who were bottom at the time and he didn't stand out technically or as someone who would control a midfield.

Saw a few more times on TV and he didn't scream out as anything special. Obviously the goals and assists are incredible, even in the Portuguese league but so much of his game is based on late runs into the penalty area and effecting things that way.

I just don't see him as a player who can help us as he doesn't fit in with our way of playing. I think you may right in that he'd find it tough against Prem opponents in those midfield battles.

Stars from the Portuguese league are always a huge risk for the mahoosive fees they command.

I said before he’s more a Paulinho and nowhere like GLC. He’ll be more comparable to dele. His all round play and technique isn’t what we need for this level. Like Paulinho he needs to be made the centre of the team and have a proper playmaker next to him to post the numbers he does.

Sorry peeps. As of now, we have no interest. His agents doing a grand job trying to solicit clubs to have a talk.

Was reading the posts above and saw this, thought I was in the Lo Celso thread for a second and my heart sank.

Yep, look at Gelson Martins, Sporting wanted £70m + for him before the pitch invasion. He went to Atletico Madrid for peanuts and flopped before going to Monaco on loan and flopping.
