Just watched it on a terrible recorded stream
Unavoidably detained yesterday
after the first half hour.
Could probably have commented
without actually watching it.
Dominated but didn't inspire or excite
but we won.
Lamela a bright spot.
Good to see Deli back.
Moura not a team player yesterday.
Son needs a rest.
Harry came to life late on.
A better team might have beaten us.
Gazzeniga promising.
Slightly quicker forward movement
but still too slow.
Eriksen worked hard.
Rose MOM?
Dembele MOM?
None deserved probably.
Might be me or the stream
but bank the points and move on.
12 from 6 good enough so far.

Great to read how cool, wonderful and definitely not upset everyone is. . .

Anyway, something that does interest me in all of the match threads is how the opposition get so little credit - it's always that Spurs were shit for allowing the opposition to take part in the game and that we should comfortable thump everyone outside the top 6 (and manage narrow wins against all of those!)
I don't think we were that bad either. Not often we get 72% possession away.

However the lack of chances seem to be a huge issue this season and I can understand why it makes people worried, and equally so when you're used to one of the best defenses in the league but keep giving away easy opportunities through what seems like complete loss of concentration.

Yeah i agree with this, Brighton lost only 4 games out of 19 last season...its in no way an easy place to go.

I sometimes think todays fans don't want to give opposition any credit. Brighton set out to be difficult to beat & done a good job at it for most of the game, which made us look poor in an attacking sense for a lot of the game, because our passing in close spaces isn't great.

The fact is we found away of dealing with it & getting front & after our 2nd we created a few chances to have scored more, if only Harry wouldn't aim for the keeper.

The only downside for me was we didn't keep a clean sheet, which down to Rose pushing to far forward, even though the game was won & there was only a few minutes to go. A shame really, because I thought Gazza did enough to deserve a clean sheet.

I understand all that but could it not be that Brighton deserve some credit for restricting us and then hitting on the break when our full backs were acting like wingers? I'm sure the truth is somewhere in between but we seem to give no credit to the opposition and total blame on ourselves - all a bit arrogant imo.

Good win at the end of the day. Brighton are a difficult opponent on their home patch and they were ready for us.

Played well in the first half but the 2nd half was a bit ropey and we could have easily drawn or lost that game. We are fortunate to hit a patch now where we have 2 of the worst teams in the league coming up so hopefully the players score quite a few goals and get their confidence up.

Harry really likes Levy, he's always praising him and taking his side when it comes to talking Spurs.
Not so sure he likes him, but he is candid with his views. i suspect he respects him and respects the way he's built the team on a sustainable basis. I think Redknapp is sharper than we give him credit for.

I can take yesterday's performance/result, as long as the players "get it" now. The performances against Huddersfield, Barca, Cardiff and to a lesser extent Watford need to show we have learnt from out last 3 or 4 games, and remove this newly discovered complacency from our game.

After those four our next two league games are West Ham away and City at home, probably two of our least favourite fixtures in any season. We need to ensure we go in to these games confidence high and in form, otherwise we'll be playing catch-up on the big 4 and Arsenal all season.

1. Moura not a team player yet it was him who laid the ball for Rose to cross for Lamela.
2. Harry came to life but is shot of confidence big time
3. A better team might have beaten us - true of every team on earth.
4. Gazzaniga promising? - he should be Vorm's professor.
5. Still too slow - too fucking right we're too slow.
6. Eriksen worked hard? - when? TBH his drop in form is even more worrying than Kane's
7. MOM - Alderweireld- absolutely crucial at the back yesterday.
8 Still, a win is a win.

Could not agree more. Absolutely loved Harry's reign. Left me with amazing memories. Just seeing him on the show yesterday was great - proper manager. Simply does not get the credit he deserves, too many people deal with him in a "classist" way - as if he is H at the pub offering a few football thoughts. Was annoying to see that supercilious BT host p***k ask him questions in that patronising way.

Posted this on Harry's reign a few years ago.

Remember the good times, those moments that got the got us off our seats, the racing heart beats, the relief, the joy - the football, the reason why we support this glorious club.

Poch is obviously awesome but I will always remember those brilliant few seasons under Harry - the all out attacking mind set in the true Tottenham Hotspur spirit.

I always think that the game against Inter at the Lane epitomised everything brilliant about our team under Harry Redknapp. Modric with the skipped dribble and the pass threaded through to Rafa, the instinctive finish, Rafa and all of us looking for offside, the relief, the joy. Bale - he was 21 (21!!) - taking over. Ripping Maicon and Javier Zanetti, the dancing dribbles, the acceleration, the rocket crosses, the finishes from Crouchy and Pav. Brilliant.

The Arsenal game at the Emirates - 2-0 down. Rafa threading Bale through. Fabregas with the handball. We just knew Rafa would convert. Arsenal were shaking. Rafa's freekick and Kaboul with the flicked header. Wenger with the angry fling of the drink and Harry almost pleading with Rafa to head back.

Good times. COYS!

Everyone chill and watch this:

Telling someone a word is stupid is not the same as telling them they can't use it.

Telling someone their opinion is wrong is not the same as denying them the right to express it.

Telling someone that what they say makes them look like an idiot/baby/fool is not the same as calling them an idiot/baby/fool.

How many times is it necessary to make these distinctions before they sink in?

Spursy is a stupid word to use though come on now, more annoying that anything because it has no context behind it or at worst had lost it's original context.

See, this is what I mean, Dondo gets it.

It's internet trolling 101. People will now use spursy even if they don't want to because your outrage outweighs their self-loathing. They will even use the word spursy where the word doesn't apply, just to get a rise out of you.

This is how memes are born.

Nothing outweighs my self loathing thank you very much

I know a lot of Spurs fans have been repeating this but..........I say it again, we badly need a central midfielder who has the ability to open up defences. A Pirlo type of player.
We always seem to have a lot of possession percentage in games but we fail to penetrate their final third to exploit their rearguard.

Harry had an excellent team
and he let them play.
Credit for that.

He was an embarrassing
probably crooked self serving charlatan
that got away with stealing a living for years
Lives on through Jamie.
Indulged by the media
because he is one of their own.
Almost sold Bale for peanuts
got lucky because of injuries.
But he'll take the credit because he always did.
unless failure was someone else's fault.

Couldn't and can't stand the man.

Are we not one of the big 4?
