This is the wrong way of thinking and typical of a bottler mentality because you're waiting for the day things will fuck up, no offence

This is about how far we've come as a football team, if you can't celebrate the fact we've gained vital steps under Poch including the result last night and wait until the end of the season then what is the actual point of supporting a football team.

Live in the moment.

Im loving it, fella. Its bloody awesome at the moment and it was a bit of a joke, the bottler stuff is a load of crap. We rarely lose to teams that haven't spent billions of pounds more than us these days.

Over the fucking moon.

EDIT: I spent a solid part of my day telling people how much bollocks this 'bottle' rubbish is. That and the fact we're selling our best players, have no stadium and don't win trophies. These other supporters reallllyyyyyy need new material.

Someone in the match thread (can't remember who) made a couple of comments during the game with this legends thing as the obvious agenda. Different strokes I suppose.

When even our own fans are saying we have choked (last night) what fans of other clubs say is irrelevant. We get enough of it from our own.

Its venting disappointment I guess, but fuck me, wait until the final whistle before indulging in this bollocks :D

Spot on! Enjoy and celebrate the moment. Dont wait until the end "just in case" as that is one definition of a bottler!!

We did miss a squillion chances mind. And they hit the post twice.

If Inter had won, then those myriad of missed sitters could have seen us... err... bottle it?

But we played well and positively.
Our attitude was right
Some things were always
beyond our control.
That's not bottling it
that's life.

I don't really care for this because I feel it's all about our own insecurities as fans and unfortunately during big games the atmosphere is the stadiums (the two semi finals in the F.A Cup and the tie vs Juventus) you can feel that insecurity and it feeds to the players, we can talk about not being legends now but fact remains our fans show that insecurity on these forums and in the stadium.

With that being said, I'm in a moment where I honestly can't wait for each game to come and as a fan that's all you can ask for of your team, that they are playing in a way that excites you, win/lose/draw.

Final point; we haven't had a home advantage for 18 months now. That is huge and something a lot of rival fans have forgotten.
This situation has made us a far more robust outfit and no more so than this season, where we have won 8 out of our 10 away games, which is mightily impressive in anyone's book. We appear to approach all games irrespective of venue or competition with the same mind set and tactics and with the odd blip this has proved to be successful

? Yeah I can definately see those same people logging onto Spurs Community to look for this thread as some sort of justification for using the term.

This isn’t the only place that exists. Spurs fans in general react to it too much. SC is just a microcosm of it.

Yes we have and for many years. Even under Poch early on. We're just not anymore. That's the big influence Poch has made on this team. He had to change that mentality that was deep to the core of the team.

Some people will still use the phrase legends any time we lose at the end. It's because we were once and they can't seem to let go of the fact that we're different now. Although it seems we rarely get called legends now anyway, instead we get "but they haven't won a trophy". Haters are always looking for something to use against us. When we win a trophy it will be "but that's just 1 trophy, they need to win the League or Champions League". If we win those it will be "but they need to win them over consecutive seasons". If we win trophies like Utd did under Fergie over a long period of time we may finally get the praise we deserve.

This team has really been through it all these past 3 Champions League group stages. The first time under Poch we had a group we felt was not too difficult and should top it. We didn't show up though and got knocked out. The second time around we had a tough group and were not so confident. The team rose to the occassion and topped the group. This third time around we had another tough group, we didn't show up at first and then showed the character to turn it around. The third time was like a mix of the first and second time.

Indeed. Haters from all clubs are looking for things to use against all clubs. It’s not a Spurs agenda.

Liverpool have won fuck all under Klopp and lost several finals. As has Klopp. They’re the biggest bottle jobs going, managed by a premiere bottle Job....

See... it’s easy ?

That's not really bottling it. If we had been up against it defending and then caved in at the end it could have been considered so. When you're positive and pushing forward with attack after attack that can't ever be seen as bottling. We were in a frustrating situation, anxious in front of goal but always going for it. I've seen Real Madrid play similar against Barca and miss just as many chances.

Probably although it's just nice to reaffirm it once in a while especially for those Spurs fans who buy into it. ?

I like the positivity. Results like this, starts to change not only the mindset of the players, but the whole club. I remember BMJ used to dislike the fact that losing was accepted at Spurs. Things are changing and this is as mental reminder to everyone at the club that we can do it.
