One good thing, with only eight players, they're going to be the hardest working side in the country.

Makes you wonder if they were foreign owners would they be getting alot of bad press at the moment and hate
Funny that it's the Latvian shareholder who's making these demands. If it were the other way round the press would be (even more) up in arms.

Signed 3 players today! Big day for Blackpool! Now have enough players to field an 11. Huge day!

Just a quick update.....This is the current state of the pitch at Blackpool
Blackpool.jpg

They are currently in last place in the Championship a full 10 points behind Millwall (in 23rd) and 18 points behind Fulham (in 21st and just missing the drop zone).

This is the account of the club by a Blackpool supporter on Reddit

Are they the same owners as when Blackpool were in the PL or did they get sold when they got relegated?

Their goalkeeper, Joe Lewis, had to wear an autographed shirt at the weekend as the club are so broke that they don't have any spare 'keeper shirts!

Did he have to buy it himself?

Strikes me as the type of thing that the Oystons would make him pay for....

Reason no. 564 why every football fan should feel sorry for Blackpool supporters.

Apparently their training ground hasn't undergone any upgrades since before Stanley Matthews joined the club.

Grant Hall is on loan there, right?

I hope we never do any more business with them while Oyston is there.

Actually, most clubs do make their players pay for the shirts if they give them to fans.
I knew this was the case with lower leagues anyway as Cambridge players were told not to swap shirts with Man Utd players because of the cost of replacement.

However, it's also the same at Spurs!
We were told on the stadium tour that it's why you rarely see our players swap shirts or give them to fans, other than at the end of the season.
The shirts they wear are different to what we can buy (different materials etc) and cost approx £200 per shirt.

I knew it was more common at the lower levels for teams to have players buy them but didn't realize they did it at the upper levels.

Could still see the Oystons telling Lewis that he had to buy the "Joe Lewis autographed keeper's kit" that was on sale at the club shop....."don't worry, we'll just take it out of your check. If you don't like it maybe you should have washed your own kit better."
