Whether they perform is not the point I was making. More the approach, removal of deadwood or addition of pace up front improvements at the back there seems to be a plan this is what I am pleased about. If they are shit or can't perform in poch system that is not really my point.

Time will tell whether it is a successful window or not.. But it certainly feels like we are working towards a actual agenda rather than casting around aimlessly.

I think though we may not see the real fruit of the endeavour for a season or two.

And I'm sure if we lose or draw tomorrow, it will be the worst window ever ;-)

It will be the announcement that of the teamsheet tomorrow that does it. We don't actually wait for the actual game to unfold these days don't you know

I like the aqquisitons made so far as well as the outgoings and it definitely seems there is more direction in the approach but we entered the window in my opinion with two glaring needs. We need a leader in the middle to anchor next to our promising youngsters and we need an option behind Kane. Neither has been addressed (yet). Like I said, I like the moves made thus far but without addressing those positions not only is this not the best window ever, I would consider it a failure.

I believe we've brought much better this window, it was also important to sell players early which we did.

The players acquired so far are more suited to the EPL Wimmer Trippier N'jie Son Alderweireld Alli all are excellent athletes, extremely fit, strong and quick...

The most impressive thing for me is we've increased the speed of the team.

Pochettinho I trust will introduce these players progressively during the season with the current starters ie Walker Vertonghen Dembele under real pressure imo

Regards Lamela with this added pace I feel will be much improved however it looks like he'll be gone...personally I'd keep him sell Dembele and play rotate him behind the main striker.

Agree with the thrust of the positive posts regarding this transfer window . We seem to be addressing the actual needs for Poch's vision to come to fruition. Support for Kane and much needed creativity and pace going forward with Son and hopefully Berahino, and the prospect of a solid DM as an anchor. The players sold so far have been just the ones we needed to let go for a variety of reasons.

I'm pretty content with this window so far. Some defensive options, keeping Hugo, removal of some deadwood and adding some pace to the wings. If we sell Adebayor and get in another striker I'll be pretty darn happy.

The football has been more boring than I thought if some fans think this has been our best ever transfer window.

Yes but the new players have not yet played! So far the attacking players, who will have the biggest impact on how we play, have not been available.

We will only see a difference once those players have been integrated into the team.

Last season we conceded something like 54 goals in the league so I have been pleased that we have looked to address that problem and they were all purchased early enough to integrate into the squad. it is an area that has been improved, on paper at least, if we end up with around 40 goals conceded then it may prove to be the difference between 4th and 5th or 6th but only time will tell. on paper we have gone from a 6 out of 10 to a possible 8

Our DM area looks like mason bentaleb with carroll and alli replacing the French pair with it appears support from Dier. is this the season that carroll is finally given the chance to shine? on paper gone from a 6 out of 10 to 6 .5 out of 10.

The three behind the striker has also seen an improvement but Chadli and Erickson in particular scored key goals and will again be integral to the season. The two new signings have again seen an improvement on the players sold and both add much needed pace. on paper gone from 7.5 out of 10 to a possible 9 .

Strikers are still the main issue as we are down to one. last year we were a 5 out of ten and there is still no change. many would say 9 or 10 out of 10 because of the way Kane played last season, but I'm basing it on having 3 strikers so only a 5.

So overall for me it has been a reasonable window with what looks like solid improvement in the back 4 and the 3 behind the striker.
A good window would be one more striker. A very good window a striker and DM. An excellent window 2 strikers and DM.

However the best window is the one that finishes on August 1st.

With Pulis continuing to leave berahino out and Poch making love to him it does seem inevitable berahino will become a Spur before deadline.

If we get Berahino in but fail on a CM, its pretty annoying, and will likely cost us points, but gives Dier a chance to grow alongside the other youngsters in the middle. Would still be a decent window in that case.

If we don't sign a single backup striker for Kane and are reduced to convincing ourselves that Chadli or N'Jie can do the lone role in the Prem, then in no way could this be anything other than a balls up..

We have had to correct some poor signings in this window but with Son and Njie a dm and cf. this should be pivotal in getting the squad to progress beyond this season.

Selling the deadwood has been very successful. The problem is we are very thin on goodwood. In fact we are positively woodless in some areas now. If we get a DM and CF in the next two days I'll get a woody.
