Bayern Munich's Ribery angrily hits back at criticism for eating gold-covered steak

Ribery visited the Nusr-et restaurant in Dubai during some downtime with the Bundesliga on hold. The restaurant is owned by Nusret Gokce, known as "Salt Bae" for his extravagant persona and the way he seasons his meat. The steak, covered in gold, can cost in excess of £1,000.

Ribery, 35, was criticised after the picture emerged but hit back on Instagram, saying: "For 2019, let's dot the i's and cross the t's... Let's start with the jealous, the haters, those only born because a condom had a hole in: f--- your mothers, your grandmothers and even your family tree. I owe you nothing.

"My success is, above all, thanks to God, me, and my loved ones who believed in me. For the others, you're nothing but pebbles in my socks!"

Classy response.

Footballers are overpaid, its true, but they can do as they please with their cash and I don't get why people need to bash them for it. Loads of rich people flaunt their wealth.

This story makes me laugh for a few reasons; this picture

media.media.c8bf3ecb-8e34-4179-8c70-ed2149d10139.original1024.jpg

one - Ribery, going for a meal at what is apparently one of the most exclusive restaurants in the world, is dressed like an Eastern European gang member. I almost guarantee he's wearing Adidas trainers.
two - The chef is... Bret Hart? holy shit, that's actually kind of awesome, but he does look like a man who is a chef/contract killer. The black gloves and shades (and what appears to be a hospital wristband??) in the kitchen are especially sinister.
three - Ribery trying to do a meme. Not only that, a dead meme.
four - that steak looks horrible. Sure, the image of it sliced looks alright, allowing for the colours in the picture it could be a bit over done, but can't really tell, but the gold? Hezoos Crisps, that's so unappetizing.

I wonder if i'd go mental like that if I was to become rich? Seems to be the thing to do - just go straight to crazy town.

Love the way people complain about ostentation at a restaurant, it's Dubai! The whole bleeding place is the epitomy of tasteless ostenfuckingtation.

Apparently he didn't even pay - he was invited to the restaurant by the owner, at no cost.
That being said, £1000 on something you're gonna shit out within 24 hours?? Nah, you're alright.

No respect for him if everything we hear is true. Treatment of gourcuff, sleeping with underage and generally looking like quasimodos pervy uncle.

Are you actually meant to eat the gold? Wouldn't that chafe a little on the way back out?

Meh, if he wants to waste his money on it then that's up to him. That being said, surely this is exactly the kind of thing that's obvious to cause "outrage" so his publicist/PR team should've definitely been all over this. Or he should've just had some common sense to realise that it isn't a good look for him, rightly or wrongly. No need for him to come back quite as strongly though, doesn't do himself any favours with that either.

EDIT @absolute bobbins what exactly do you disagree with out of interest?

Ugh, this chef is a cock. Seen a few clips and he is more showman than anything. Really dislike him & his persona...

Dislike might be an understatement
