It's a semi-final. They have this regular season, top 6 into a playoff type thing. The game is on one of the BT Sport channels right now. 25 mins to go.

Last week Besart Berisha scored an 88th minute bicycle kick to win Melbourne Victory the game against Adelaide.

Took about 4 views to finally see that the ball wasn't cut back to the edge of the box.

I think they need to get a falcon in to scare them away because the chances of getting back to your seat with pie/Aussie equivalent still in hand after half time must be nearly zero.

Tonight's match... League winners Sydney FC just saved themselves with an OG by Melbourne Victory on 94:55. 2-2. Panic defending and the defender sliced it into his own net.

Sydney also won the league and the cup last season. Only lost 3 games this season.



Edit: Same player, Terry Antonis, just scored at the right end in extra time. 2-3. 116 mins. The next four minutes involved two Melbourne coaches being sent off! One ran on the field to have a go at a Sydney player for some reason.

The Grand Final was last night. A drab affair in the end settled by an 8th min OG. Shame. Newcastle Jets 0-1 Melbourne Victory.

Highlight was this:

He'd already made some good saves to keep Newcastle out - they were the better team but just couldn't score... the first bandage was a clash of heads that didn't look too serious, but this one was!

2 weeks into the season and the VAR is ruining it.

That's Markus Babbel, 1 red card in 500+ games as a player and sent off in his 2nd as manager here. All because the refs are boneheads.

Edit: The ref said he gave it for offside, which would be correct (The WSW player coming back..) but the gesture is for a foul.

The Grand Final tonight. Perth vs Sydney, in Perth. Perth had won the league stage by 8pts and Sydney 2nd (they do a playoff series ft the top 6..). Dull game, really, through extra time and then penalties. I don't recall many clear cut chances in the whole 2hrs.

25 seconds in.. your team is already losing and you try this. I've never seen one saved live before. This was also his last game before retiring. Perth may not have won anyway but he blew it for them with this.
