That really doesn't look terribly healthy, even with the addition of Ozil.

It makes me even more pissed that they upped their game and beat us.
Gawd I hope we win against Utd tonight

I thnik its almost fit for the purpose of winning something.... If they improve it a bit more by losing a couple of key players, they could challenge for a top3 relegation place. Fully supporting the chairmen in his long term goal for the club of this. Dont worry Arsenal fans , he hasnt properly understood the idea of relegation yet.

They lack quality in midfield. They are all water carriers who work fairly hard. Still a top 6 team because of their strikers but an injury to either of them could see them slip down the table.

That’s an eye opener to what happens when you just pay over the top for everyone.

We struggle to shift players now, imagine what it’s like on those wages.

It highlights how much of a balancing act it is. And after watching that I suddenly feel like is there’s players in the squad who don’t want to commit then we heed to shift them on. It’s better to have the money in the bank with the opportunity to replace, than not have the money at all.

We couldn’t afford to do what they have with the stadium debt.

Shocking when you hear it all laid out.

I actually put out a tweet about a year ago that they were in massive trouble. Not only with contracts running down but aging players and I believe there’s worse to come. Next summer they will have to replace koscielny monreal lichsteiner Ramsey welbeck now that’s just age and contracts. Not including the complete dross like Elneny jenkinson etc. So just to maintain their current level you’re probably talking £100m minimum. Not even taking into account Ozil situation. Will be no surprise to me if In another year they are in that 7th-10th pack. I’d be surprised if Lacazette doesn’t get restless as well.

Cech as well

Yeah, it's going to be tough for them

Sort of makes it clear the difficulty clubs have. Its why the champions league is everything . Why we need to stay in it, and why arsenal need to drop out the top6.
Theres a lot of data as you read down, but thats the jist.

Im sure I heard Mkhitaryan has some weird clause in his contract that he goes to 250k a week or something this summer.

In fairness, I think they have some talented youth coming through, but they wont be ready to bridge this gap they're gonna have. Aside from Welbeck, Ramsey, Lichsteiner, Koscielny, Monreal, Cech to replace, they've got to shift Chambers & Jenkinson whilst also buying at very least one centre back. As much as they might think we are fucked (and even if/when we lose Eriksen/Dembele/Alderweireld) we will have received fees for our players as well as having less glaring gaps to fill
