Isn't Ceballos more of an attacking midfielder though?

I guess aside from Ozil they are lacking in attacking midfielders a bit (Mkhitaryan hasn't been hugely successful and rumours were they were looking to offload).

I'd have thought they should be looking at defenders more though, as with Holding injured and Koscielny situation they only have Papastathopoulos as a decent option as Mustafi is crap.

They're also a bit short at right-back given Bellerin might not be ready for new season and they've let Lichtsteiner go (who was a bit rubbish anyways).

They've been pushing for Tierney also, which is odd given right back has far less cover, they've got Kolašinac, who I thought was pretty decent and (lol) the ever-dependable Monreal.

Looking at their squad in general it's not that pretty lol.

Other than the top 2, I don't see any dangers in that squad. The whole squad looks like a club who are resigned to finish in the Europa League places. Long may it continue.

Ceballos was way down our list of targets it seems. In fact, he was linked heavily with West Ham before he played well in the Euro under 21’s which was good for Real as it boosted interest in him.

I’m not fussed one bit. The stories of how they’ve got one over on us “again” are amusing and shows what’s gone on at both clubs in the last few years.
Celebrating a loan deal of a player Madrid are happy to sack off whilst we have signed the best young midfielder in European football last summer and also close to sealing a deal for Lo Celso, who outperformed Ceballos by far last season, in a much worse side.

Anybody else see these highlights? Laughed so hard at how they lost and the penalty kicks and their defender (no idea his name, unsurprisingly) getting sent off and his reaction. And that Modric got him sent off. And Bale helped beat them...just so rich

Asensio injury likely means no move for Ceballos...

Not sure why that would be. They're hardly like-for-like players. Ceballos usually plays deeper in a CM role whereas Asensio is usually out wide higher up the pitch.
