Is releasing a press statement where you say you are trying to buy “really expensive” players not just a sure fire way to make the clubs you want to buy from make their players.... erm.... really expensive?!

Probably. But if they think 'expensive and big' transfers is the right strategy to apply when wanting to get back into top CL their fans should be massively concerned. They won't be though cause the majority of their fan base are Twitter virgins

You forget who is their manager. All he ever does is spend a ton of money to try to buy silverware but his managerial skills are suspect imo.

Won the domestic treble with PSG after spending a fortune but my nan could have probably achieved that with PSG.

Oh sure, if you have seen my previous posts on Emery, you will know that I have been privy to a bit of info of him as a coach/working relationships, etc

Can we just match their bids on every player they try to get so they either don't get them or have to pay a lot more?

He didn't have the biggest budget when he won the EL 3 Times with Sevilla.

Bought a LOT of players each year for 2013, 2014 and 2015 though a couple were loans. While the players were not super expensive, there were a lot of signings so he went quantity over one expensive signing. Point remains that he is well known to have to spend money rather than work on what he has. Plus winning the Europa league is a much different target than winning Champions League

Yet still didn't have the biggest budget in the competitions the years he still won it, did they really spend that big, £36m, 20m and 37m in the years that he was there, hardly breaking the bank were they? The trouble is that you said that he spend money to try ad buy silverware which suggests that he's a chequebook manager when he is far from that.

Biggest problem with Emery is is lack of man management, his elusiveness and not entirely approachable so players find it hard to get motivated for him which separates him from being a very good coach, he is decent for where Arsenal are now though but not where they want to be.

You'd think that the spammers took that lesson on the chin for the rest of the league. Apparently not...

This is exactly what was told to me. I know that since Tuchel has been at PSG things became more relaxed in a lot of ways, maybe not so much with training but certainly the feeling was less tense inside the club.

Arsenal are also struggling to complete a deal to sign Kieran Tierney, Sky Sports News understands.

Celtic believe Arsenal’s second offer of £18m plus £7m in add-ons is unrealistic because the additional payments are linked to Champions League qualification.

Celtic believe Arsenal should move on to other targets if they cannot afford Tierney.

Seem to have clinched Ceballos on loan, they don't seem to mind developing players for the big teams :ROFLMAO:.

Apparently Real will explore the opportunity with Arsenal at the end of the season to see if they want to buy him.

If Ceballos does well I don't see how Arsenal expect to keep him seeing as he'd back himself to get into that Real team and Real would most probably want him back. The only way Arsenal get to buy him is if Real don't want him and he wants to sign for Arsenal, kinda risky if true.

...and if Arsenal don't get CL footy then another CL club will just jump in and outbid them.

No doubt their fans are claiming this as a victory but IMO it's anything but. It's like they've extended Ramsey' s contract by another year and that's been generous cause he was a big player for them and Ceballos may not settle

If we were in their position no one would be on their high horse about signing a player on loan who might get us to the Champs league. I understand why the deal wasn't right for us, but conversely can see why it's right for them. Ideal, no, but right, definitely. IMO of course
