Absolutely diabolical.

To top it all off, Mkhitaryan may not be able to travel because he’s an Armenian and Azerbaijan won’t issue a visa.

UEFA have offered to assist but can not guarantee his safety.

Arsenal or not, they are a Europa League finalist and deserve to be treated with respect in that capacity.

This match should not be taking place in Baku, a couple of hundred miles from sodding Iran when all of Europe’s top clubs are in Western Europe.

Agree with all that but the last statement. That’s the same mentality that keeps the elite in their ivory towers to keep the riff raff in their place.

I saw a good point made earlier. It would literally be better for fans if the game was hosted in the United States or China than in Baku. They might be further away, but the transport situations means you can get there quicker, more cheaply, and in sufficient numbers. There's only capacity for 15k fans to fly to Baku, that often involves connecting flights taking over 24 hours from the UK, and is costing upwards of a grand. I can just about go along with putting finals at least occasionally in Moscow, Kiev and Istanbul - places which are on the edges of Europe and don't have much hope of providing finalists these days, but at least have strong footballing cultures and are reasonably accessible. But Baku just isn't suitable, and they aren't the riff-raff - they're obscenely wealthy from oil and gas, are only hosting the final because UEFA think growing their presence there will make them a tidy sum, and perhaps worst of all have such bad relations with another UEFA member that one of the finalist's players may not be able to safely travel there. I simply do not see a single reasonable argument for it.

I don’t believe any country which refuses visas to any entire nation of people should be allowed to host a European final - Azerbaijan won’t permit entry to Armenians, including Mkhitaryan, so that excludes Baku.

I also don’t believe any country we know to be routinely abusing human rights should be allowed to host a European final, for the safety of fans if nothing else - Azerbaijan are currently rounding up, torturing and imprisoning people on suspicion of being gay, so that excludes Baku.

Currently over 60% of Arsenal fans saying they'd sacrifice winning a European trophy themselves just to stop us from beating Liverpool. Talk about a small club mentality. Hopefully they're screwed twice over.

Don’t know if he’s taking the piss or not”

“Why the actual fuck have 38% deemed it acceptable for Spurs to win the Champions League? Personally, I’d take relegation for a season to stop them winning it”

That’s a better argument. Being far away isn’t.

Arsenal are just a shit MK Dons, moved north, changed their name. Even had their own AFC club spring up in Charlton Athletic after they left.

They can never escape their origins, that they used to play on a pitch with an open sewer for one of its terraces. The smell remains with them.

Oh the irony. Exactly the sort of mentality that they used to accuse us of having.

Far too many people celebrating already.

1. We've crumbled before so many times and although unlikely could still finish below them.

2. If they win the Europa and we end up trophy less they've had a better season then us.
Lmfao a better season? What in the absolute fuck.
