lmao how embarassing (even if they do go through next week), heard BATE entire squad cost £10 million, thats 3 times less than Mustafi cost..
Apparently their entire squad yesterday cost around £200k.
The £10m figure is how much they have spent in their entire history!!.
Pretty shocking stuff for Woolwich fans.

I do wonder what effect no cl would actually have on arse. If they fail again it will be 3? Seasons away i think. If we get cl again this season and again next season then we will overtake them financially with the new stadium next year (which will surely grow year in year once its up and running)

You don't have to click if you don't want to, this is the important bits.

Football revenue for the year was £388.2 million (2017 - £422.8 million), with the decrease being mainly attributable to the club’s participation in the Europa League, rather than the more lucrative Champions League. Operating profits were also impacted by continued investment in player wages, which meant that total staff costs, excluding exceptional costs, grew to £223.3 million (2017 - £199.4 million).

Commenting on the financial results, the club’s chairman, Sir Chips Keswick, said: “Player trading has meant that overall Arsenal has had another profitable year, but we are very aware of the financial pressure which Europa League football places on the club. A return to the Champions League is a clear priority which everyone at the club is committed to delivering.”
A few more years of this and they'll be deeply and truly fucked.

Simon Jordan was on Talksport last night, they would have been so much worse if it wasn't for the transfer out profits. Went on to say the overpaid on player purchases and they pay too much in players wages.

.. But that incoming Adidas kit deal would probably bail them out.

(If I was on the Adidias board I would have a rethink on those sponsorship numbers LOL)

They must be living off all the money Wenger refused to use all those years.

Yes the Adidas deal will offset most of the lost revenue. But that just means they'll stand still, without CL their situation won't improve enough compared to the rest of the top 6.

In a nutshell its saying:
-being out of the CL has hit their operating profit to the tune of £60m a year
-when you take off player amortisations which is basically depreciation of players as they move through the life of their contracts (£92m last year) they are just about breaking even/making a small loss.
-It was the sale of players last season (£122m worth) that put them into an overall profit situation and when you think back a lot of players left (Sanchez, Ox-Chamberlain, Walcott and the bearded traffic cone Giroud)
-Sacking Wenger cost them £17m

Selling players is not sustainable so they have two main goals open to them.
1. Get back in the CL as soon as possible, which also feeds gate revenues and sponsorship
2. Reduce the wage bill, which will explain the departure of Ramsey who was keen to stay if they had come up with the money. Apparently they had to pay Mikataryan £140k a week to get him in a swap deal for Sanchez, which is ludicrous.

Given what has happened so far I don't think their books will look too good when they close for 2019 and if they don't get CL after last nights debacle the natives will start getting restless!.

Isn’t that Adidas deal ratcheted dependant on being in CL ? Sure they get less if they aren’t. Ultimately if you have an American owner who has no interest in the football side and is happy to cream £50m a year profit it will only go one way just like Villa. Who knows if Levy really cares about the football or not. But what he does care about is protecting his £1.5-2 bn profit that he will cash in sooner rather than later.

I like the arsenal fans keep blaming Emery not to include Ozil in the squad. Ozil is no longer a world class player. He can't be the savior anymore. But arsenal fans seem to think that Ozil can save their season. Shows that they are really desperate.

The fuckers seem quite chuffed about landing the £300 mill deal despite their worst ever performance in the PL and a second year out of the CL.

Adidas can't be that stupid can they ? Arsenal's overseas fanbase will just melt away surely ?
