Are the Daily Mail recruiting their journos from the WI?

How's "anal" a very rude word? It's a scientific word, it's derived from Latin.

Not sure the latin use of the word is the same as what most people think it means today.

What about ‘The Arse’?

And any gooner going to the game can say "I am going up the arse later"

Go and ask 100 random people outside if they like anal.... See what the response is like!

You don't call god "the god" do you? To many of people there is only one so doesn't need "the". Just like Spurs.

God is a bad example with articles, as in other languages they use the plural but infer the singluar. This can get confusing as hell (not the hell as it is a place).

THE Internet is a better example, why use 'the internet', there is only one internet. It comes down to places as well, you don't use articles with places, you use it for things. For example, 'The Tottenham' would be incorrect if you are talking about the place, as a club it is acceptable but not widely used as it would confuse itself as the place. However if it is not a place but a nickname - the Spurs would be fine.

Too add a little more to it, if you say "I am going down to the Spurs on the morrow" this is incorrect as you are using Spurs as a place. "Up the Spurs" is correct, "Up the Tottenham" is questionable. Anymore questions on the subject should directed to Martin Jol.

So anyway "The Arsenal" if you are talking about weapons, then it's fine, if it's the club, ok but not commonly used, as a place not correct.

But yeah, back on topic, (the) Arsenal, if you take away some letters it becomes rather rude...

I just don’t see what others seem to see in Ozil. He was poor for Arsenal and he has been hopeless for Germany in the World Cup. Now Arsenal are stuck with him and that ridiculous salary package they agreed.

It’s brilliant isn’t it!

Wenger’s parting gift.

Commentators are going to hate Arsenal next year.

Aubamamamayayayang, Mikhitariairianirianrianiranrianian, Lacazettespaghetti, Pastapapapapapopolous...

Are they trying to make their transfer fees back in shirt sales with names?!

The last time I watch Sokratis play was a few years ago and he looked a good player then. No idea what he's like now and I cant say I remember him playing in the CL group games last season.

They're adding experience to their team which is what they need, it's not a bad signing tbh.
