At the end of last season I was looking forward to Sanchez forcing his way out as I felt that the signing of Lacazette wouldn't completely counter that and they'd actually be worse off. However, my stance has changed, I hope he stays. Why? Because I think next summer will be a total disaster for them - to lose Sanchez, Ozil and Ox for nothing whilst have other players coming into the last year of their contract will be a huge headache.

They are struggling to sign players now, can you imagine having to negotiate big money transfers knowing that they are getting no incomings from sales, not to mention the huge gaps they would then need to plug.

If Arsenal don't get this situation under control they could be in for a huge problem that may set them back for a number of years. Here's hoping

How are they letting top quality players in their prime years run down their contracts? They might have to spend their entire transfer budget next season trying to replace those 3 players. I'd love it if they lost Sanchez and Chamberlain on a free, I don't think Ozil is anywhere near as good as he's made out to be though..

Wenger spoke recently, I think I mentioned it in here that by keeping Sanchez it would enable them to qualify for next year's Champions League and this in turn would bring in £50 mill.

Irrespective of losing out on a £40 mill transfer and having to pay out another £12 mill in wages to Sanchez.

Crazy eh ?

This.

They're playing a very dangerous game. Of course they have the financial clout and a certain amount of quality in the squad to turn it around, but the fact that they're in this situation in the first place doesn't bode well for them.

And the huge risk of not making CL. To miss out two years on the bounce would be devastating for a club like that. Wenger is still in 2006 with his thinking.

Mental to be honest

They had Sanchez last year and they didn't get CL, and this year their rivals are even stronger

Wenger should just swallow his pride, get £50 or £60m for Sanchez and reinvest. It's what most other clubs do!

Arsenal are a big mess atm.

Their squad is massive, but 50% of them always injured, they can't tie anyone down to a contract to save their life, their big new signing is pretty much french Defoe and their fans already turning on Arsene.

If you add in all the drama with Sanchez and the EL it would not surpise me if they finished 7-8 or so this year.

The team spirit there is amazing. The ONLY first teamer smiling is Mertesacker. Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez and KOSCIELNY (especially) look like they want to murder somebody, and I'd risk a wager that it's this fella...

The Sun's headline for this is the rather catchy 'JACK IN THE DOCKS Jack Wilshere sent off for Arsenal Under-23s after flooring Manchester City’s Matt Smith, sparking brawl in middle of pitch AND fighting in tunnel' by Sam Morgan. They followed it up with a tweet:
'Jack Wilshere's career hits new low after shock incident'

Evening Sam...Intrigued to hear more about how you think this is a career low for me? Would love a sit down with you? Look forward to it.

HAHA

Does he mean there have been far worse things? :D

I don't follow him. Kyle Martino of NBC RT'd it.

Guy goes to the doctors and says "I've been constipated now for nearly two months"...the doctor examines him and says "I'm afraid you have the Arsene Wenger virus". Guy says "What exactly does that mean ?" Doc replies "You're full of shit !"
(Alexis Sanchez told me that joke...)
