Look, I’m not saying he’s covered himself in glory but the comments about not being this level are mental. He’s made no more errors than Jan, Lloris, Dier and the full backs in the past few games. His have been punished.
His team mates lacked any real belief in Foyth's ability to do the job though didn't they? The defence was jittery and unsettled from the start. If that was obvious to most Spurs supporters watching the game what is Poch not seeing? Vertonghen is usually as cool as Paulo. Jan the man was a wreck today. As was Aurier who has previous but was enraged about something regarding Foyth. If Toby wasn't 100% what about Dier filling in at centre back? He's experienced and steady enough to have had the confidence of those around him.

I thought Spurs should win this game for all sorts of reasons prior to the kick off. Firstly we haven't won there for 8 years which is a disgrace in itself. Secondly Spurs have better players all over the pitch. Aubamayang and Lacazette are very good players but in every other position Spurs had better options. Poch invited the goons to attack Spurs down our right with his team selection. They did attack us, they got on top and Poch just watched. Vertonghen isn't fit, Foyth isn't ready and Aurier needs to be protected defensively to be effective going forward. It was obvious. It was shit. It was Poch's fault.

I hope United fucking batter them. Keep Maureen in the job longer and put the Goons back in their place.

So do I. We saw how shit United were against Saints and maybe that's a good thing so Mourinho will know not to put out such a dog shit team for Arsenal. We really want United to do us a favour and for us to beat Saints then we need to get an overdue win at Leicester as they have Huddersfield at home. Hopefully Chelsea can get dragged back into this too with them having Wolves away and then City at home.

The sad reality is that we have one far less then any of the other current "big six" either recently or throughout our entire history all told.

Enic have done well to take us from a team that finished mid-table and occasionally struggled against relegation to a team in the CL.

Enic get a lot of hate but if there was a reward for the most improved club over the period of their stewardship we would certainly win it.

We all get a bit salty because we realise that ultimately their strategy if for us to be competitive....with an outside chance of winning something.

The investment it takes to actually win something does not make financial sense...the marginal return on the extra 300-400m it would cost to take this club from outside challengers to genuine competitors is so small that the probability adjusted reward is less than the cost.

Arsenal is the model...or at least under Wenger...Spend what you need to to get a full stadium and play CL football every year and be competitive in the cups...if you are very lucky you may win something once every few years...then be savvy in the transfer market...try and sell players at their peak value and replace them with younger and cheaper whilst hoping to maintain your position with a general improvement in the squad.

This reality is understandably unappealing for supporters and once you get the joke it comes increasingly difficult to stay engaged...you see the game for what it is and start to question whether its worth spending thousands of pounds on it every year.
Good post but it wouldn't have taken £300m-£400m to win the title the year Leicester did, or the season after.

We lost, it happened. I only managed to see the last 20 mins unfortunately. Dust ourselves down and win some of these fixtures coming up which are all winnable

Toerreira or however you spell his name would walk into our team.

Anyone who witnessed that banana skin being thrown on the pitch and did nothing should be ashamed of themselves. Whoever did it should get a kicking.

KWP is inexperienced and didn't fare too well against west ham, so I can't imagine him doing any better against a better team like Woolwich.

Should still have been given far more minutes that would have given him the opportunity to challenge for a starting birth at this point.

I'm going to assume it's true and it's fucking disgusting, I mean do you forget the entire heritage of our club and not only how our own players feel. Hope they get named and shamed.

true enough but there's a reason they were 5000-1 to win before that season. It was a freak and it may be another 60/70 years before something like that happens again

In 4 matches he has given away two penalties...was lucky not to have a clear penalty awarded against him and then gave away the ball for the 3rd goal...

But agree with the rest of your points..

Winks and Toby should have come on when it was still 2-1
He also got us 3pts against Palace, had plenty of confident interceptions today inside the box and out. Verts got himself sent off, conceded a penalty and but is the starting CB for the best national team on earth. Does that mean we drop him?

I hear you.. still think it was the wrong decision not to start Toby...still think Foyth looked out of his depth.

I have a suspicion that Toby's sale has already been agreed and that we won't see much of him til January...a bit like Walker...

They just mentioned it on sky. I saw a sticker that depticted that expressions doughnut as a monkey aswell.

Are we losing all of our roots these days?

We have too many fans on game day who's lives are clearly not going how they wanted and they've put all their inadequacies on spurs and it's frankly pathetic.

There's an unpleasant trend on here that if you post something negative, you get a personal insult.

There's no need to play the man. People are entitled to their opinions.

Well, the issue is that the posters make it personal about the players.

I disagree that he was out of his depth. Anyway, it was a sort of baptism of fire. I don't know why Jan waved his arm and gave away the penalty. I don't think we can lay that at Foyth's feet.

And in my opinion we need some perspective, we lost away to Arsenal, is that an absolute aberration that proves that everything is going to shit? In my opinion no it isn't because they are a very good side playing well and were better on the day. What we do now is what is important.
