He's had a good WC in my opinion, and if true and we can afford him would be an excellent buy. Kabul simply cannot be relied upon regarding his fitness and aside from that did not play that well when he returned from his last bout on the sidelines.

Yep. Though in a straight choice between us and the Arse, there's only going to be one winner, due to CL...

Veltman hasn't played in this WC so far, AFAIK. ((he's been on the bench))
You fellas may be thinking of Vlaar (who started every single game) at CB...Or perhaps De Vrij (who's also played quite a bit). ;)

Mate he's had a great WC. He's the reason the Dutch are in the semis.

Well, he hasn't put a foot wrong! I have just looked at their match reports for their games during the WC and he has been on the bench the whole time.

I could be wrong but I thought he came on as a late sub in a recent game but don't recall any other appearances

He's only 6 ft tall - which, these days is a bit short for a CB.
Vlaar is 6ft 3 and De Vrij is 6 ft 2.5.
