Antonio Conte has said that he was really happy with Matt Doherty after his performance in Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Everton on Saturday, sharing what he told the right-back when he came off.

Needs a run of games to attain an edge. But I feel the side looks much more balanced with him playing, albeit perisic was favoured down the left.

It's brilliant the way that he's resurrected his career. A couple of years ago he would have been very few people's first pick on here and now everyone's kicking off when he's not in the first team!

Kept his head down and worked through the hard times. Can't ask for more from a player in terms of attitude. It's great seeing someone turn it around, especially considering the poor bloke was getting Pelters for being utterly woeful. Obviously a change in system has also helped.

He's certainly more of a threat going forward, and in fairness defended well. He and Romero did look a unit.

Good bet for an occasional brain fart but I think that’s pretty much a job requirement for a Tottenham RWB in the 21st century.

And this coming from one of his admirers.
