I think both have come across as very lazy when not in form, Eriksen has lacked the bottle/determination to track back and Dele has looked like he can’t be arsed at times. Certainly not like Lamela who busts a gut constantly...all opinions though and don’t want to seem like I’m bashing our own players.
But we all know that Dele or Chris can be match winners. I doubt many people can say Gomes has won matches for whatever team he played. We want match winners in Spurs team all over the pitch, right?

As I mentioned my original post, I haven’t seen enough of him personally so can’t really make a good judgement on the 2 games I’ve seen him...I just want good players who can contribute and improve the team/squad.

Dele or Eriksen are not of a similar style or play the say position to Gomes.
I am undecided if he is good enough for us to be honest but a better comparison would be to Dier sisssoko or winks who good players as they are I wouldn’t describe them as match winners, almost all dms and cms are not

Nice little player with great technique ... only reservation is his total lack of speed ... could see some on here turning on him with “he slows us down” or transition from defence to attack is too slow arguement

I don’t think Gomes has the athleticism or work rate to play how Pochettino demands. I look at Lamela and wouldn’t say he’s particularly athletic but has an unbelievable work rate .... I personally would pass on Gomes

Not for me. He’s so slow, I don’t think he will adapt and take the rigours of the PL.

We need pace and energy in CM as well as technical ability.

I don’t think he’s been particularly good for Everton it has to be said.

Gomes is to football what capoeira is to martial arts; looks impressive but in reality is ineffective and a waste of everyone's time.

Thought he was pretty good in Everton's game against Liverpool and looked a player. Silky, moving the ball around well and generally did well coping with Liverpool's pressing style in midfield. Against us, he was poor. Not sure I'd trust him in a midfield 2. Maybe the furthest forward in a three but seems the kind of player that looks silky but maybe not much substance behind that.

According to ITK, we either

i) dicked him about in the summer and pissed him off
ii) offered him to Poch who rejected him as not good enough

Either way, can’t see this happening

Good cos he ain’t good enough. Very average in the 4-5 games I have seen him play for Everton, not even sure what qualities he actually has

He played two good games for Everton and seeing as they are having a bang average season the commentators need something to talk about so why not the former Barcelona player.
