Speaking of the formation, you've gotta love Rose's attitude. I vaguely remember Redknapp saying he wouldn't make it as a winger. Rather than get depressed, Rose knuckled down and became the best, toughest, fiercest, silkiest, most dependable wingback in the premier league.

It's weird that Alli always finds those pockets of space, he doesn't seem particularly dynamic in his movement, and you would think knowing what a big part of his game these runs into the box are that coaches would drill his markers before games, but week after week he ghosts into these positions largely untracked...

Gonna have to start calling him the ghost, or Derren Brown as there's some sort of tricksy stuff going on.

For me there will only ever be one Ghost at the Lane, that was John White. Taken by lightening way too young. That said Alli is very good, very reminiscent of Martin Peters, and the mere fact that I am mentioning Alli in the same sentences as those idols of mine says everything! I just hope he decides to stay with us for his whole career, along with HK, DR, KW and quite a few others.
