Hm, he's 25 years old so no youngster (of course this is a very good thing when in defence), although as a defender he should still have 10 full years left as a top player. Seems to be dangerous in the opponents box as well, 16 goals in 135 league games isn't bad for a central defender. Three or four a season.

'Only' two caps for Germany though, but sounds promising. Although of course there's always a massive risk that he won't cut it in a much better and faster league.

All this is according to Wikipedia, who haven't got much on him at all.

It's only this season that I've started watching Bundesliga regularly, and it's really been an eye-opener. The overall standard is pretty poor. Time was, and not so long ago, that if you got drawn against a German side in European competition you'd consider phoning in the result, but now even the top teams seem to struggle against very moderate opposition.

Another plus is that Magath has those Wolves in shape. So this guy won't need 3 months to get used to Ramos' regiment :)

They're pretty dull, though. I watched them play Hansa a few weeks ago and found myself gradually losing the will to live.

I was meaning compared to Kaboul, Dawson et al when we signed them. As in he's played regularly in a top league for several years.

You will also notice that I said that he still should have 10 years left at the top level.
