I have to admit that I didn't rate him at all when he was at West Ham but what has happened this season at Newcastle is quite amazing. When he took over the job, Newcastle fans were not too happy, they thought he was simply going to be Mike Ashley's puppet and the whole thing was soured even more by the unfair (at the time) sacking of our very own Chis Hughton.

I don't know who's in charge of signings at Newcastle but they've turned a corner in a big way. Gone are the days where they paraded marquee signings for high fees, they've been replaced by what looks from the outside, a sensible transfer policy. Andy Carol left for £35m and was replaced by free transfer Demba Ba, we all know the story, it must be the best piece of business done for a long long time. Tiote and Cabaye are also proving to be brilliant buys and they have the likes of Obertan and Ben Arfa who have bags of potential.

It would surely be harsh to say that Pardew has been lucky in the respect that his signings have hit the ground running, they are playing some great football at the moment and that doesn't just happen without good coaching.

What do you lot think about Pardew? Have the signings all been his or do they have a DOF system? I'm not sure what that Lambias chap does behind the scenes apart from wind up the Geordie faithful. I really disliked Newcastle before they went down but their fans seem more humble now and they're a good team to watch again. I can't help but enjoy their resurgence, even though it makes me feel a bit dirty.

I thought he did well at Wham up until they signed Tevez and Mascherano which turned out to be a massive problem for him.
It didn't seem to go well afterwards but I think he argued at Saints he had to get rid of a lot of players.

I know West Ham fans who never liked him while he was there, to be honest I get the Roeder/Pardew/Curbishley/Zola/Grant times mixed up. It all seemed to happen so fast.

Anyway, if Newcastle keep up this form there will be calls for him to replace Harry when he leaves. I'm not sure about that idea myself but he's certainly not doing himself any harm as things stand.

He's got them very well organised but their style of football is rather crude. Strikes me as an intelligent bloke in his interviews.

Tiote and Ben Arfa were there before him.

He's done well considering the money situation. He's done well with Ba as that was a massive gamble. He's got a good mix in there.

Tiote and Toure is a rate midfield for Cote d'Ivoire by the way.

He spent a fair amount of money at West Ham and didn't get them immediate promotion despite a very strong Championship squad.

My mate is a Saints fan and says Pardew has a bad reputation for sleeping with the players girlfriends and this ultimately got him sacked there.

He's done a fantastic job at Newcastle so far though. They're finally spending wisely and he is selling players for good money and then buying better players for less money. The profit Newcastle could get for Cabaye, Tiote and Ba is huge.

They have challenging times ahead though as there is pressure on him from a large fan base to keep the form going with minimal money.

Statistically the worst defender in Tottenham's history though.

Heard they have an extensive network of scouts in France. They are doing a good job.

He done well at West Ham too, until the Tevez/Mascherano incident

Hammers fans absoultely hate Pardew and Redknapp. They always seem to hate the ones that did well there. They haven't really been the same since he left apart from a nice little spell with Curbishley

He did a good job at WHU until he * allegedly* shagged one of his player's wives and subsequently lost the dressing room.

Details, details, details...

I remember there were also rumours concerning his Southampton exit, and doing a quick search I even found a thread on the old.spurscommunity site (soon to become the oldold.spurscommunity site) concerning a chap claiming his marriage was ruined by him.

Incidentally I've just typed in "Alan Pardew" into Google and the 4 predictive searches its given me are

1) alan pardew shagging
2) alan pardew rumours
3) alan pardew wiki
4) alan pardew gambling debts
