Advice needed for tomorrow's game . . .

Hi,

I went to Gerry Francis' first game in charge in 1994, and saw Dean Saunders stamp all over my heart after a spirited Klinsmann-led comeback.

So I thought, well, why not go to Ramos' - tickets are always easier to get for the Carling Cup.

I'm going up with my mates, and we have travelled up from Canterbury several times before to WHL, but have always had a full-on sprint back from Liverpool St station after the game to Victoria to get the last train back to east Kent at 11.03/11.33, (I know, capital of the country and can't get a train past midnight.) Last time we missed the train and had to pay a cabbie £125 to take us home! :-|

Anyway, whats the best way to get to Seven Sisters from WHL, might as well try a different route tomorrow, and how busy is it usually?

Plus, where is the infamous Bell and Hare i hear so much about, I've been to a good few pubs around WHL but not that one.

Plus , if anyone fancy's a prematch SC bevvie, let me know - be nice to put faces to names.

Ta very.

Well you can go from White Hart Lane station to Liverpool Street. On a night game, we usually leave the pub at around half 10 ish and are easily back for trains. So my personal advice would be to give it half an hour after the game, then go to White Hart Lane station to Liverpool Street. Takes 22 minutes.

Bell & Hare is on the High Road, just before the Park Lane. Literally right outside the ground. If you're coming from White Hart Lane station, turn right out of the station to get to the High Road, take a right at the top, keep walking down, past the West Stand entrance, past the Megastore, over the Road and the B&H is on the left hand side.

Bell and hare is at the south west corner of the ground, in between the Corner Pin pub and the public bogs, opposite the spurs megastore...

As for WHL to Seven Sisters... there's only one way... straight down the high street, either by foot, bus or train...

However... the route I'd recommend is...

Northumberland Park (about 10 minutes walk from stadium, eastwards down park lane)... head southbound towards Liverpool St, then get off at a station with the tube (e.g Tottenham Hale) then jump on the tube down to Victoria station?

Tho I'd check that route out with someone... cos i'm still not sure if it'd get u there in time... tho i think it would be quicker!

I've completely mis-read your post. You need to get from WHL to SS as your train is from Viccy rather than LS?

It's 15/20 minute walk from the ground to SS. Or 5/10 minute bus depending on traffic.

Or the WHL to Liv Street service stops at Seven Sisters, it's like 3 stops or so?

Ah... so maybe my suggestion does make sense

Was wondering why yours only took an 22 mins... and i reckon mine would take an hour!

On the same topic, but different transport.
How BAD is parking around the ground nowadays. Going to the Birmingham game by car, dad's drivingEek and he thinks parking will be the same as 1980.

I (well, I say I... my dad) always parks on the north side of the North Circular, then its about 20mins walk down to the ground... its a bit of a trek, but you'll actually get home quicker!

(this is assuming you're driving in from outside London!)

I would say you could either get the train from Northumberland Park to Tottenham Hale and jump on the Victoria line from there, or steal a police horse and charge down the road to Seven Sisters station and the Victoria Line.

I would say that it would best to avoid White Hart Lane station and probably Seven Sisters too as these will most likely be the busiest. The buses don't run down the highstreet for a while after the games usually.

Cheers for the info guys, yeah i usually get the train from WHL to Liv Street, then tube it to Victoria. Just hoping for a quicker route as we always miss the train to Canterbury.

I think getting on the Victoria Line at Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale would be a much quicker way of doing it. How do you travel up to the ground? Assuming it's the same way, why not get the Victoria Line up to Seven Sisters this time and see how long it takes, you can get any bus ending in '9' and it will drop pretty much right outside the Bell and Hare, next to the Park Lane end.

If you need a piss, it's definitely quicker from Bruce Grove.

I've never run so fast in my life. The fear of pissing oneself and not being able to piss in the street without gettint arrested can make you break all sorts of world records.

Lousy broken down train! *shakes fist*
