Paredes is too slow for Poch's pressing style. Not every CM that's on the market suits our needs.
Believe Herc mentioned he was on our radar in the summer but had bigger clubs after him and would be difficult.

Edit: may be thinking of a different Paredes currently in Argentina.

Edit x2: was thinking Palacios.

Palacios from River Plate was who that was about.

Poch on the phone with Rabiot:

" I take it you've seen the news about Frenkie to Barca? "

At least Rabiot would know he wouldn’t be purchased over if he were here. Can’t afford it!

For him to even meet with us something must have changed with the ‘agreement’ he had with Barce. Hopefully Chelsea don’t swoop in...

I’m like a sad , desperate, heterosexual monk; years of abstinence in the metaphoric transfer window and I’m getting tingly at the remote prospect of a Frenchman

I think there's a reason (or a few) as to why his value keeps depreciating, and it's directly related to his and his mother's attitude towards everything. He seems like an entitled prick but I trust Poch's judgement on being able to connect with players and his determination when bringing new players to the club. So if we sign him with all of these red flags, then it must mean that Poch feels like he can get a handle of him.

True it can be problem but then I don't think poch would want him from start.
And his low price now is because 6 months left in contract.

I would say go for it and if it wouldn't work we can sell him and prob do a profit from it

If we somehow pull this one off I guarantee within 2 years we'll be baying for his blood and burning effigies of his mum on the Tottenham high road.

But fuck it, signings are fun. SEAL THE DEAL LEVY!

In all seriousness I wonder, even if he proves to be a cretin of the highest order, he's top quality and might help convince Poch, Eriksen and Toby that we have some ambition in the short term. Wishful thinking but you never know.

So, he has very little time on his contract left. What would be accepted as a bid? £20-£25mill?

Dembele - £11mill
Jansen- £10-£15mill

Rabiot covered. Very Levy like.
