Is he a RB though? Because if he is its a long line behind Hutton and Gunter.

Not at all bad for a 17 years old.....but hopefully he'll not up like another 17 years old that also started out well in his debut: Phil Ifil.

So we've got him and Gunther as right backs when Hutton is injured . Guess Ramos was just seeing what he was like to see whether they need to buy more cover .

Must have been impressed with him yesterday .

He's let success go to his head.

When he first came on, I thought he was decent. Then he gave the ball away and the backlash started. As he ran down the wing, I'd given up on him and blamed him for damaging the team's morale with his "me, me, me" attitude. Then when he crossed for the goal I accepted that he would probably captain England one day. As he celebrated the goal I reckoned he'd lost his form - he hasn't done much for Spurs recently and should probably be sold to make way for fresh young talent.

Looked good but seriously needs to put on weight. Hes tiny and likely to get minced in the premiership.

Needs to go on the Bale workout/diet.

Looks a decent player, won't get anywhere near the first team this season though

You never know actually, Ramos wasn't scared to throw youngsters in at Sevilla so if we get a few injuries don't rule it out, especially now with the 7 subs rule.

I still don't think so. We have a £3m right back who will struggle for appearences next year (wrongly, imo) behind Hutton & Zokora, so I can't see this lad anywhere near.

I can see Gunter being groomed for a CB position which is where Wales see him ending up.

Is that based on anything apart from Wales seeing him ending up as a CB?

Obviously he'd be good there. But pre-season really hasnt tested his defensive capabilities. It's shown off how good he can be on the offensive.

Something his manager said when he was sold to us - versatlity based. He's still young enough to be moulded in to a decent CB if that's what the agenda is. i'm easy either way, but I wouldn't want to lose him if he feels he has a brick wall to climb to get a shot at playing.

i think gunter will be the squad player who will fill in when a full back is injured or come on to shore up the defence when we need to close a game out.

a few years down the line he might be given the chance at CB.

nice to see another youngster get a chance with the first team. maybe Rose next?

Looks good. I think Ramos is willing to give a chance to kids (perhaps not Smith in prem games) whereas Jol used an average-solid experienced back up. Out go Chimbonda, with Staltieri and LYP to follow. Much better to have Hutton, Gunter and Smith

Needs to go on the Bale workout/diet.

I would imagine that the "Bale workout/diet" is spending all day in the gym as he was injured for so long.

It's what happened to Akinbiyi when he got injured, he got so buff he got banned from the gym.
