A Positive Thread

To try to counter the flow of negativity, I thought we should just have one thread to be positive.

  1. We only lost one game that brought to an end a run of 6 or 7 games undefeated.
  2. Stoof keeps saying that we have more points away from home than in the corresponding fixtures last season
  3. We are still in all of the competitions that we entered
  4. We are only 12 points behind 4th place having already played 3 of the big 4 - the other being Chelsea who are not having the best of times lately
  5. We have played only 4 games at home this season with only one surprising result - Everton
  6. We are actually playing very well until we concede, lending to the confidence being low argument
Now I am not saying that all is well in the world and that we will go unbeaten in all competitions for the next 8 months, but it really is not as bad as most people on the site believe. It makes me laugh that over the last few reasonably successful weeks (relatively speaking) the activity on here has been minimal, however last night the server must have needed some serious coolant to stop it melting.

We are one defensive/set peice coach from domination. I have been preaching this for years. We have the players, not the staff.

nice try mate - i too think there is alot of overly harsh criticism at the moment...

but like anyone else who saw last nights performance - i am worried...a few of our players were just abysmal really - and the body language on Berbs was not encouraging...HOWEVER...I support Spurs and I believe with a bit of good fortune and with players returning to a bit of form we will bounce back....we have been almost there with a patches of good play, just needs to click...realistically a cup win and a top 6 finish from here....?

COYS!!!!

Yay a thread that Stoof isn't called out to be a wanker!

You're wrong of course; I am a wanker.

But it's true, let's take a closer look:

This Season: 3 points

Sunderland 0-1
Man Utd 0-1
Fulham 3-3
Bolton 1-1
Liverpool 2-2
Newcastle 1-3

Last Season: 1 point

Sheffield United (in Sunderland's place) 1-2
Man Utd 0-1
Fulham 1-1
Bolton 0-3 (WORSE)
Liverpool 0-4 (WORSE)
Newcastle 1-3

So the positive point you've put forward is that we're shit away from home?

Positives, um.... ahhh.... we made a shit load of money this year, so we're in a position where the new manager can ship out lots of our dross. Then sign some quality.

Doesn't look so good when you consider those games were consecutive this season, unlike last season. I'd say given that fact we're not much better off, if not worse. Form plays a big factor. We better hope it really is temporary.

Stoof you wanker, you have a way of putting a positive slant on things. Very refreshing.
Rep to the thread starter for a post that is both positive and logical.

You can't deny, though, that we've had some really shitty results and 18th in the league after 10 games is not good whichever way you look at it. 3-1 at Newcastle is far from the biggest dissapointment of the season. I think that the gutting thing is more the performances. For me the international break came at the wrong time. We were so close to beating Liverpool, and if that had been followed straight away with the newcastle game we might have done better. Maybe not though.

Either way, I think I'll stay in here for a while to soak up the positive vibe and try to achieve some kind of internal balance.

i think i am what can be classed as a positive spurs fan but im in a deep depression about spurs at the moment. i duno why its been so poor this season, its horrible watching us concede such sloppy goals, and jenas.... well i used to back him but i really think he is no where near good enough for us, how many misplaced passes can one player make? not audacious passes but 5 yard passes!

We're financially healthy.
Kemsley has gone
Bale and Kaboul will be great players.
King will be back soon.

I'm struggling after that

Agreed. We were rubbish until we went 2-0 down.

Players running into each other, players standing waiting for each other to get it. There seemed little to no communication last night. My view is we are nervous, every game. Once we go 2-0 down we have nothing to lose and the fear somewhat subsides.

The positives for me are that we have a damn good squad, and with a 1 or 2 additions of the right players, and a coaching appointment (defense specialist), we could be a formidable team. It's almost a so near, yet so far situation.

This is a time when the whole club should be pulling together, but it doesn't seem that this is happening, regardless of who's fault it is.

How about this for a positive....

The Season Is Not Over Yet, Keep Fighting Until It Is.

If the team actually continues to fight i will be fine. If they continue to play soft I will drop into the depression others are feeling. I love Kaboul's passion Despite the fact he leaves Dawson alone in the back. Now if only Jenas played with that type of fire we would have a good midfield. He seemed more like a Guppy in the Goldfish bowl than a Spur.

Sunderland (A)
Everton (H)
Derby (H)
Man Utd (A)
Fulham (A)
Arsenal (H)
Bolton (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Liverpool (A)
Newcastle (A)

can you believe we are just 7 pts from 10 games ?

i think our Home games are enough to get more than that !!

let's alone draws with likes Sunderland, Fulham & Bolton .. it would make it far better season .. even if we lost against Liverpool.

i had a positive thought about last nights performance, wait. no, its gone..

ang on its back, when watching the game I actually didnt get anxiety when YP Lee got the ball, he was very solid. The rest of the team was rubbish but you cant have evreything.

On a side note i got a blowjob from the missus before the game so I was pretty positive about the evening as a whole on reflection.

actually the only thing that really annoyed me was that clumsy fuckwit geremi. although i think he did it on purpose tbh.
