I have been looking through a lot of comments on here about 1882 season ticket holders and there is a lot of people suggesting that they are rich tickets. Well I had no choice but to buy one as I only got a season ticket last year so I got the last pick. I wanted to be in that south stand so bad and it was all that was left. I even phoned up to try and move it but I didn't want to be anywhere else. After a long chat with the missus she said she would buy it for me for my 30th so not all bad news. Anyway I am always standing and when people were asking me to sit down at Wembley I would just move to where people were standing as this winds me up more then anything. So jut to reassure anyone out there I will be standing and I urge everyone in that south stand to do the same especially us poor fuckers who had no choice but to by a posh seat. Cant smile without you

Is quite frightening the amount of those seats in the 'home' end and it undoubtedly will make a difference to the atmosphere but its good to hear there will be some supporters like yourself sitting/standing in them

Good luck standing up for the whole game where your located. Hopefully nobody directly behind you or anyone indirectly around you is upset or bothered by your 'strange' behaviour

It was impossible to stand for the whole game in the old South Upper so the thought of lots of people standing in a shiny new comfy stadium when they've paid 2k is pretty much unthinkable

I'm with you, everyone in the South should stand for the whole game but in reality I'd be amazed if more than the first 27 (safe standing lower tier bit) rows do and I'd even be happy to just see that.

I picked Row 38 because its low enough for some atmosphere and will offer a fantastic view and picture of the whole game at both ends but I'd be very happy but amazed If many want to stand for the duration around me

I was Paxton lower row 12 for a few years and it was decent, I was lower centre Wembley behind the goal row 10 and it was terrible.Got spoilt with the view in the Park Lane Upper Row 9 for many years before the move...

Good luck with that! :ROFLMAO:. 1882 or not, I reckon you'll be out on your ear before long. The complainers will be complaining and I think the club will be a lot more stringent than at Wembley. All sorts of things will come into play such as safety, and Spurs will not want to fall foul of that straight away.

I agree but imagine trying to get 17k people to sit down, good luck with that!!!

At the end of the day we are trying to create a new fantastic atmosphere in a shiny new concrete bowl. Doing that whilst seated is impossible

Power to the people

WHL was quite more often than it was raucous, so I wouldn't worry about it. It will be exactly the same in the new place.

The problem is that with a shiny new comfy ground with a lot more corporate the atmosphere will be even quieter than the old WHL you have correctly described. That is worrying

A nice early Palace goal should sort everyone out. Get us back in the swing of things and end all this ‘atmosphere’ chat.

There will be almost twice as many people in the ground so that might help the atmos', that said I'm in the safe standing park lane lower so I shan't be sitting. All the best frank mac.

The one thing to put a damper on atmosphere in my eyes is when you get constant chanting along with constantly drumming like at Crystal Palace . I prefer the atmosphere to be organic and motivated either by the play on the pitch or the crowd making an effort to push the team on. And not the constant similar noise for me its on a par with the "I think its called" the Zuby Zola as heard at the South Africa World Cup it was a constant drone and gave me a headache as in the noise Palace fans make a constant drone.

Totally with you on this. It's like the German teams seem to do, constant continuous monotony, both drums and chants.
The rise and fall of a proper atmosphere beats it any day.

Never bought it was an atmosphere killer. I think like the OP for some people it was the only option and they were the last tickets to sell. Otherwise people have made a conscious decision to sit in the south stand rather than buy a west stand corporate. There’s absolutely no reason to suggest that someone that has a better job than most folk should be less passionate or can’t sing. When someone is put in a more corporate environment they will behave in a more corporate way. But these seats are right in the middle of all the action and I’d expect people to get caught up in it. Centre court at Wimbledon is a fine example. Not to many poor people in there but everyone gets caught up in it when the atmosphere gets going.

I does just seem like a misstep by the club IMO. The single-tier stand they made out like it was something just for the fans i.e. we're tearing down your beloved stadium to build a new one with lots of corporate stuff to get more money, but as a gesture to our "proper" fans we're building a massive single-tier stand to make up for it. And I think a lot of our fans appreciated that. But then they've seemingly changed their mind half way along and decided to stick a load of corporate seats right in the middle of it anyway, so that just rubs me up the wrong way. Obviously that's not really the fault of the people who've bought tickets there though, so it's a bit harsh if people are giving them a hard time. At the end of the day though the club are laughing either way cos rather predictably they've sold those seats despite charging a much higher price for them so that's that then.

They may be corporate seats but will they be filled with corporates? I dont think so in all honesty. I know if i didnt have an ST and wanted one id buy the £2,200 seats but im less than corporate.

I take your point though regarding the fact that it wouldnt have been £2,200 if they didnt decide to sell these as corporates

Can't be that "poor" if you're in the posh seats.

Oh and sit down if you're asked to, and don't move over to where someone else is. Fucks me right off when some berk in front of me suddenly twitches to his feet, like one of his piles just burst, every time the ball goes over the sodding halfway line...

Rest assured there are planty of passionate, stand up noisy cheering singing supporters who can well afford £2,200.
