We aren't a big club in comparion with the rest of the top six sides. We have just recently managed to inch our way to being able to afford the wage budget of the 5th side Arsenal. The problem for us is so much of ours is used badly.
We are a challenger club rather than a contender. Our...
As long as we get good money for him, I would be fine with him leaving. He has done all that he can (or will) here and the club needs money to rebuild under a new manager.
It's going to be a huge wrench to lose him, but it will be even worse if he goes for nothing and we are scrambling around...
Conte for me is just a symbol of how we have forgotten who we are. We can't compete with Man Utd, Man CIty, Chelsea financially, so we need to do things smarter. Right now we have the highest wage bill in the club's existence and it's allocated terribly. It's time to regroup and accept that...
We have got to be more realistic and focused on what we are as a club too.
We will never compete for the top players when they are at their peak. Casemiro for instance would never have considered going to us over Manchester United. We lack the wages and the prestige. We get top players by...
Our great lost player that would have possibly taken up a leadership position is Gary Mabbutt. He wanted to stay in the game, but his health made it too difficult.
The interesting thing for me here is this is where everyone realises that the deal with well known people has changed thanks to social media. We have activist footballers, formula one drivers and TV presenters
We know a lot more than we ever used to about their views and this is not going to...
If Poch isn't a coach, what is Conte? The guy is dreadful. I would love to come up with some witty hyperbole, but in truth I just want him gone immediately and take his stupid formation with him.
This is a really poor football team made even poorer by the suffocating tactics from the manager. The problem is, I don't really see how this gets better? Who will come in on the staff and playing side for the money that we will be willing to pay?
We are a poor team to watch. As well as quite a difficult side to get behind as we don't really have an engaging or likeable bunch of players. We may sleepwalk through to the UCL again, but what is the endgame?
To me it looks like the aim is to do just enough to secure Champions League...
I'm at the stage now where I think that it would be better for sides like us not to enter the FA Cup and League Cup. They are clearly low on the priority list, so at the moment we get the worst of all worlds. If we didn't enter, at least time could be allocated to training etc.
I would...
It's highly pertinent. Weakened side in the cup. Lazy, piss poor football week after week. Its okay though as we can play bloody go carts like 12 year olds.
Watching young players grow over the course of the season(s) is probably my favourite part of watching football. Both players did very well in a difficult situation.
My girlfriend is from Jhb. I'm sure that she will be thrilled that Spurs are prioritied over keeping the lights on!
We might have guaranteed about half a million Arsenal fans in Soweto.
I was once getting drinks at a club and came back to find Carlton Cole trying to chat my then girlfriend up. It makes me laugh every time I see him on tv. Given that the only footballer she recognised was Thierry Henry, it must have been a tough sell for him.
This is exactly what test cricket needs. This England era will likely not be the best test team in the world, but I think that they are going to completely change the dynamics of test cricket.
It's going to be a lot of fun watching and I hope that they don't go into their shells against Australia.
