The Toby-Martial swap makes so much sense all round. Both clubs end up stronger and with a want-away player off their books.
This is the one transfer i want to happen more than any other. This alone would make it a good window for us. If we can add maybe Grealish and a Sander Berge type...

We all want to watch a strengthened side and i agree that there must be some investment simply to stand still, but we will all benefit from a financially well run club. League position is correlated more to wages than transfer spend (meaning either high wages lead to squad stability or huge...
Mixed feelings. Sad to see him go as he has been a good servant to the club and has been immense at times, but all good things must come to an end and i think it is time.
Excited to find out who we have lined up
Will be very sad to see him go as he's mighty on his day. Equally sad to see him in physical decline. Upside is it must surely mean we have a decent replacement lined up that just needs funding.....
You are forgetting that by waiting we actually had a significant option value, in that had the purchase/bailout of Villa not gone through they would have been desperate to raise funds and we might have got him for 20m, so potentially an 8-10m saving as the cost of a few weeks of him training...
I would like to believe that, as I think Martial will be great for us, but if Toby hasn’t gone by the end of the window we have to write down the asset from a valuation of around £60m to £25, a loss of £35m!!! Not to mention the impact of having a disgruntled player / bad influence in the camp...
William to Manure paves the way for a Toby-Martial swap. We then give youth (Foyth, CCV) a chance, leaving everyone happy. 3 at the back leaves Kane isolated, and we saw how that worked for England in the WC.
First "home" game vs Liverpool to christen the new stadium. What a fixture....if we win. Can't help thinking that i would rather a softer game to start the new stadium with a win and get any talk of Hoo Doos out of the way
Are we even sure RB wanted to come to Spurs (or vice versa)?
Seems more likely that in the summer when it became clear he wasn't going to play for the first half of the season, that he sat down with Chelsea, turned them down (saving them £20m in the process) knowing that he could sign for them...
This is Spurs of old. Nothing played to the feet. Sissoko picked for the counter but we need to get hold of the ball. Winks on for Sissoko and maybe we get control of the middle and give Dier some cover as we miss Toby.
They are just more up for it than us
Even the simple becomes difficult in pressure games like this. Biggest match for half our side so understandable a few first touches are going astray. I’d take 1-0 at halftime
