He started by publicly announcing that he wasn't "tactically" good enough and, when he did deign to play him, Conte's way of playing completely snuffed out the best parts of his game
For his debut and first PL game, Vicario was fine. Plenty of room for improvement, of course, but if you're slating him already you need you head checked
Feeling a weird mixture of emotions heading to this match
Looking forward to watching us play for the first time in ages...
...but think we could quite easily lose given we're transitioning to an entirely new way of playing and its the first game without Harry
Could see us having a very...
I'll probably get slammed for this but I'm convinced Enrique would be a disaster. He hasn't managed at club level since 2017, plays suffocatingly dull possession based football and has a similar reputation as Conte for being difficult. His appointment would represent Levy (probably still under...
Levy is right not to bring Poch back. We've forgotten how bad the last 9/10 months with him were (or, perhaps more fairly, the CL run masked some of it)
What we learned (or already knew) from that
Doherty - nowhere near good enough
Winks - nowhere near good enough
Lo Celso - won't be troubling Alli, PEH or Skipp for a starting place any time soon
CCV - needs to be moved on
Romero - significantly below match sharpness
Gil - lacking match...
I was worried we'd gone too far by leaving so many senior players at home and it certainly looks that way now. No experience to turn to on the bench, though I'd still take Winks off at half-time because there's nothing more we need to see from him.
Sess is a concern, looking forward. I'm not...
You won't find me blaming any of the young or new players.
But established first teamers like Winks, Lo Celso and Doherty ought to have a long, hard look at themselves. Each has been dreadful.
Can't argue with any of BringBack_leGin's original list. You could make an argument for including
Anderton - most Premier League appearances and all-round good egg
Hugo - could overtake Anderton this month, fitness permitting
I'd also agree with Moura's inclusion as a sort of honorary mention...
Don't start with the 'it's just a preseason friendly'.
It's the penultimate preseason friendly, we're less than ten days out from the start of the season (where we play the champions) and the squad is a complete and total shambles on and off the pitch. It's not an overreaction to be more than...
Absolute shite so far. Our passing has been appalling. Barely strung two passes together since the 10th minute and lost track of the amount of times we've carelessly given it away in dangerous positions
As it stands this squad would not get us into the top ten. I don't think that's a controversial statement. Let's hope we have a very busy next ten days because there's a huge amount of work to do if this season isn't going to be a write off from the very beginning
