    Player Watch: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

I think the big mistakes over the last few games show how he is trying to buy in fully to Anges system and will maybe even make Ange think better of him. Ange can live with mistakes if he feels the player is committing to what he wants. Earlier in the season he would have just booted the ball...

    Player Watch: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

I think the Skipp over PEH is more of a role than personnel thing - i think it was the wrong sub but I think Skipp is seen as an 8 by Ange whereas Hoj tends to replace Biss at 6? There's obviously Hoj wanting to move on which won't help. He did well when he came on, Biss and Madders looked...

Kieran Maguire makes £252m Tottenham transfer debt claim

Surely most teams are also owed money in transfers too so it's hardly a clean 252m debt or whatever, it's just cashflow. You can also use the debts to offset profits and owe less in tax surely?

The Deadline Day ITK Discussion Thread - 1st September

The Palhinha deal collapsed because Fulham couldn’t replace him, so Hojbjerg not going collapsed that deal

    Player Watch: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

The incompetence in operations of this club always finds a way to turn a good feeling into a bad one. Brutal following this club sometimes. If this is with an obligation, okay but if it’s just a straight loan it’s so completely fucking pointless EDIT: Okay, at £40m yes please

Player Watch Player Watch: Brennan Johnson

Think he could be a potentially very interesting signing. I feel like part of Richy’s issues this season have been because neither Son or Kulu (Kulu especially) are particularly good at beating their man and crossing and Anges strikers, based on what I’ve seen of Kyogo’s goals last season, are...

Player Watch Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

On Gio, CM's are at an extremely high premium this year, particularly those with his skillset and quality. If we offload Hojbjerg, we should not look to sell him at all. Especially if he is happy and willing to contribute. If he has a good season he can stay and maybe sign a new contract and be...

Player Watch Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

My feeling was either back Conte or sack him, particularly if he wasn't signing a contract - and this was at Christmas. We did a sort of half measure (as we usually do) which tends to be the problem, but he clearly wasn't signing a new contract. It was clear externally and we should have moved...

    Next Manager Watch

If Nagelsmann isn't interested in the job, I am okay with not chasing after him. I think we need someone who wants to be a spurs and respects the club, when we have had managers who think they are above us, it feels like it bleeds down to the players and I'm honestly sick of it. I want a manager...

    Harry Kane

I mean, Kane could just have looked bad under Nuno for the same reason almost everyone looked terrible under him and will probably look good under Conte for the same reason others will improve. I don’t think it will be because of ‘motivation’ or whatever, it’s more likely that Conte will just be...

    Harry Kane

True but Mbappe will be available too. If Lukaku goes to Chelsea and Real get Mbappe, really only City and United can afford Haaland. I could see one going for Haaland and the other for Kane maybe, but I could also see City taking Haaland and United not bothering with Kane. Who knows, we might...

    Harry Kane

The flip side is he knows City won’t come in for him next year with Haaland, so he knuckles down, recommits himself to the club and we convince him with our new project as funds start to come in from match day revenue again. Optimistic as fuck but I really want that to happen

    Harry Kane

People saying ‘just sell him’ realise this sets a precedent right? If we stand strong as a club, other players will think twice about going on strike to force moves too. If we sell him at a cut rate, players will have a go to strategy to get out. The flip side is, if we come down too harshly...

    Harry Kane

Not to this extent and he's always had backers, most of all Spurs fans who he is now mugging off. I also think it has bothered him that people have laid into him 'One season wonder' and all that, wanting to prove people wrong. It can be good motivation but I think this will have unsettled him a bit.

Looks like the start of backtracking to me. I bet he doesn't like people laying into him in the media one bit.

    Jose Mourinho

You don’t get CL for finishing 5th. You can win EL or CL and get in but there’s no way to just finish 5th and get in.

    Jose Mourinho

We also have an ageing squad and Jose was brought in to maximise that, not to rebuild. It was to build around Kane and win something with him rather than incorporate the youthful, pacey and aggressive players Bielsa's teams need. Otherwise we would have just stuck with Poch and rebuilt.
