Don’t think we’ll be completely set in stone with the profile of player. Think Ange has said that he doesn’t look for a particular skill set and each player will bring their own attributes to that position. Think we’ll look for the best quality available then adapt/evolve how we play from that.
Kanes hold up ability, vision, timing of the pass and execution from that central forward position has been missing. it definitely is harder for the wide players as a lot of the time they’re getting passes square on, near the touch line in the middle third of the pitch, especially if Maddison is...
Agree. Think link up play in the central forward has been the biggest weakness for us this season imo. Richarlisons physical enough back to goal but there’s much more to being a hold up forward than that. his touch, ball manipulation, ball carrying, passing ability are the weaker parts of his...
Think the full backs and Sarr were taking liberties when we didn’t have a proper foothold in the game. We needed a spell of dominance before they started abandoning a more defensive starting position imo.
I had a feeling yesterday would be a difficult game. Tight pitch, against a team that were...
He definitely is press resistant. Teams don’t really press him now so much, so that part of his game is not being highlighted. I think because he has more time on the ball he’s getting a bit slack with his touch.
It’s further up the pitch, pressure resistance is hit and miss. Son, Johnson, kulu...
First half I thought he was fine. Bringing the ball forward well, good on set plays. The goal maybe he got caught on wrong side but happens with the way we play to most of ours. Has to be said Udogie didn’t really give much support.
Fulham were aggressive and snapped into challenges. Games like that, Sons touch completely goes. More concerned about a challenge coming in, same with Johnson.
Udogie was non existent in both ends of the pitch Sarr loose on the ball like Son/Johnson. Bisoumma poor. Kulu holding onto the ball...
To be fair Sarr’s given the ball away three times as well. Fulham’s always a difficult gtound. Very tight pitch. Touch and passing has got to be spot on
Really Like what I’ve seen of Doughty, didn’t realise he’s out of contract in the summer. That’ll be a great pickup for someone, got that Luke Shaw bustling running style where he just powers by people from deep. Good alternative to Udogie
I’m the other way around I think Olise is a bit overrated. He comes inside onto his left nearly every time he’s on the ball. maybe he’s got quicker feet than say Kulu but he’s as predictable in what he’s going to do. Half my family are Palace fans so do watch a fair bit of them. I’d say Eze is a...
I see that, but Sarr, Bisoumma and Maddison have been in and out as well. Personally I still trust Bentancur more on the ball in a difficult away game over Sarr in tight areas against a physical midfield I can see his touch, ball security and passing getting put under scrutiny in those areas...
Same midfield as against Palace for me. Need to get them finding a rhythm together. People want to see form returning for those players but want them out of the side if they don’t do anything spectacular inside 45 minutes.
