Yet, Dier gets game after game. Not advocating for Sissoko btw, but don’t think agility is a requirement if Dier is getting every game their with Vic out.

Started the thread and was excited to see him. Seen enough of him. KWP has to be in front of him. Time to be brave.

Miss my confidante in the anti Dier in the center of the park

    Agreed. I don’t think you need a classic destroyer in a CM 3. I like the idea of Eriksen-winks-Dele Lucas-Kane-son Or Dembele-Winks-Josh Eriksen-Kane-Dele

Due to his physical limitations, yes he had to foul. This all started from my point that Dier lacks lateral quickness. The rebuttal was that he was one of the fastest players we have in short bursts. I again said that is not what agility and quick feet mean. He is relatively fast in a straight...

There was talk in the transfer window that Poch had a vision for the center of the park. There was talk of a 433 or something else that would bring Eriksen permantely deeper and possibly Dele deeper to play alongside Vic. I think that should be the model and think Josh and Winks give a nice...

I would argue that if that was Kante, his agility would have put him directly in line with a clean tackle whereas Dier had to reach or kick out as you say. His lateral quickness is not good and I don’t think that is even a debate.

Rumor has been out for awhile that he sees himself as a CM.

To add more depth to my first post that has now got the conversation started. Yes Dier is versatile. He is strong. He has some skill for a big boy. But I stand firm in him being a CB being shoehorned into the CDM position because Vic is hurt and Dier has an ego. He can cover but he is nowhere...

I don’t disagree with you in regards to him being a big part to our squad over poch’s tenure. Spot on. Speed though is not agility. I don’t agree with you there. One touches today...if I had the editing ability I would give you 5-10 times his first touch or one touch pass were off and cause...

Agree in a sense. But I think Poch needs to be more brave when the likes of Josh, Winks and hopefully Vic come back. I would even say a mid3 of Lamela, Winks and Josh gives us plenty of cover and way more mobility

Hugo Tripps Sanchez Toby Jan Rose Amos Skipp Lucas Eriksen Dele Kane I know this won’t happen, but I can’t stand out midfield and I would rather put the kids in the deepend then watch Sissoko and Dier attempt to play football. I don’t think there is an argument that Skipp and Amos have more on...

The Dier love I just don’t understand. He is slow with no agility. Can’t one touch with accuracy. Can’t get out of tight spaces which is what the CM positions are all about. Yes, he hit a couple diagonals and put in some good tackles in the first half. He is a great shield when they are...

No one in midfield that wants the ball and that can break the pressure. Going to be a long season in the middle of the park
