He scored a few goals in his first season didn't he? Scored v Arsenal, Fulham and I think Boro in the league cup? Just because he had that never won a league game record around his neck people think he wasn't that great to begin with. But he did make an impact early on.
On paper they're "easier". But football is not played on paper or else Liverpool would have beaten Palace last week. If it was played on paper then what is the point in playing any matches? It's the Premier League. Any result can happen on any given day.
Bournemouth are a dangerous side to play...
They were all over them first half and the levels dropped after half time. Let frustration and emotion get the better of them.
Now they can go back to the level they should be.
Guess that's the difference. I think back to Jenas free kick at Old Trafford and the good memories. I completely forgot lasagna gate was that season. But that was the kick start for us under Jol. Only good times for me.
How often have we played like we did at Newcastle?
We got 5 points from the top 3 in the reverse fixtures and beat both Burnley and Sheffield United. And we all know how the Chelsea game went, if we had 11 players we likely would have won with how we were all over them like a rash.
Arsenal at...
Sacking him would be stupid. They've challenged for the league two seasons running and reached UCL QFs this year. Like it or not, they have improved, especially defensively.
We should be picking up 6 v Burnley and Sheffield United. So that's more than 4. I think we'll beat one of Arsenal and City at least, so 3-4 points from those two (2 minimum). It's Liverpool and Chelsea away that worry me.
In the article you posted it said the Premier League is getting rid of its mid-season break.. Players are being run into the ground and nobody within the game that can do anything about it cares.
