I'd probably go with Bissouma for this one, he's only a problem against low block countering teams. He's good as a pivot if we're playing out the back. Just lacks the ability to be a sole #6 when we're playing a high line with 2 fullbacks ahead of him imo.
Vic
Porro Romero VDV Davies...
He looks a good player going forward, but yeah he lost that ball and wasn't even bothered to follow him back. Could be what he's instructed to do though.
I wonder if Poch still has the dressing room there or has lost it
I think he could be. Not to be a stats merchant, but Nico Willians has 4.84 shot creating actions per game, 5.9 progressive carries, 3.71 successful take ons.
For Brennan Johnson, those numbers are: 2.74, 3.70, 1.04.
For Son, 3.63, 2.85, and 1.20.
The interesting thing is, in these metrics...
I think Gordon is great and I'd love him (Newcastle won't sell anyway), but much like Marcus Rashford I think he's a great player on the counter attack but does he have the guile to unlock deep defenses? It's one thing against us, with miles of space to run into behind, and another against the...
It's a "replacing Fergie" type scenario, but the reason Moyes replacing Fergie was a disaster was because of the Moyes part mainly. He's just not a big club manager. I also don't think Liverpool are in quite the same position as United at that time. The big players in that team were all around...
The one thing I wonder is can Eze play the left forward role the way Ange wants? The wide forwards start pretty far out and then (I think) the idea is to beat the man and create chances by pull backs and low crosses into the area. Idk if Eze is that player, he seems better to me more suited to...
We'll need to win 4 or 5 of our remaining games to get 4th. Idk if we have that consistency,
I'm getting comfortable with the idea of Europa league next season, think it'll be a good opportunity to get more practice with the style of football Ange wants us to play particularly against teams...
thing is we're already strong in those positions with Maddison and Son but the fact that he can play either spot is a plus for sure. I think a right wing player is more important at the moment which is why I would like Olise more, but of course people worry about his injury history.
