Wasn't sure where to post this from The Times.
I guess here's as good a place as any.
Tottenham are great to watch – and to play against
new
They are fearless and relentless but in all the gritty stuff they are lacking — and were nowhere near Arsenal. Is it in Postecoglou’s DNA to sacrifice...
I dunno, after all he is an Arsenal fan.
He is a strong believer in fairness and in the power and benefits of sport and has a keen appreciation of its social, political and financial aspects. He has participated in sport all his life, is a member of the MCC and Arsenal FC, and still regularly...
As an Australian who has been involved with Australian football at the top level in both journalism/TV and and administration, let me say that it is almost impossible for any Aussie coach to reach the FC Twente/Sampdoria/Auxerre level of coaching unless they actually played for these clubs. That...
Guus Hiddick managed Australia from 2005-2006 through the qualifiers and took them to the World Cup in 2006.
Tim Cahill scored two goals for Australia against Japan to give Australia their first ever win at a World Cup Finals.
Not that this has anything to do with our manager search and Ange...
Tim Cahill played under Guus Hiddink and he did OK didn't he.
I mean, as an ex Chelsea interim manager twice, he'd be perfectly qualified to manage us.😊
I don't know if it's just me, but I keep having this nagging thought that Levy actually wants us to fail, relegate even, so this leaves the 'entertainment' venue and the rest of company as the prime focus of the business and pushes the difficult effort and journey to build a successful football...
Just seen this half-time quote by Rob Bagchi on the live game report ticker in The Telegraph:
"An utter defenestration of Tottenham's defence and the way the club has been run over the past few years with such strange recruitment, so much short-termism which has left them with a squad of players...
Munn is a bit of a doppleganger for Levy (with contact lenses instead of glasses, of course.)
Also seems quite short too.
Is this part of Levy's master plan ?
Forget a Spurs shirt. Did he know anything at all about football when he was younger, because most Aussies don't, especially if they've been involved with Aussie Rules etc.
As an Aussie whose memory goes back to our WC qualifier against Israel at the SCG in 1969, I can honestly say that I'm very, very pleased, but very surprised.
This really is nowhere near our best team but they now have the best ever WC Finals record.
Hopefully you will agree, Argentina is surely...
Awful game. And the worst Australian team that I've ever seen, and I can remember the qualifying campaigns back to 1969.
Goodness knows how they got past the fifth best team in South America.
As for the keeper, words fail me. It really shouldn't be allowed and I agree that he stepped over the...
I think the issue is that Gareth Southgate is not a good manager and he's been lucky with the quality of some of players that he's been able to select for England.
Not just Matt Law but The Telegraph in general. Sam Wallace also wrote a negative article about Conte leaving about a week ago.
I don't think they like Levy or goodness knows what else the club has done to upset them but this is a frequently recurring theme.
As such, you can't believe a word...
