Three of the top 5 teams in the Prem got schooled this weekend, two of them at home, yet the other two's fans don't seem to be banging on about it being the manager's fault. I despair of this fanbase sometimes.
Good point. I'd like to add that even top players at the peak of their careers can still take a while to adapt to a new system so there really aren't any quick fixes no matter how much we spend.
Exactly this.
There are so many areas where he can and should improve yet he's already a match winner. Another two seasons under Ange and he could well be genuine world class.
Johnson seems to have addressed the two issues many of us (myself included) were criticising him for; timidity and off the ball workrate. An impressive performance with hopefully more to come.
Doesn't remind me of anyone, I'm afraid. I've never seen any player quite like him. He's a total one-off who (if he continues progressing at this rate) is going to change the way the game is played in the future. I haven't been this excited about a Spurs player since Kane emerged.
Then please address this on whatever social media you feel he's being scapegoated on. Nobody is scapegoating him in this thread, just commenting on the shortcomings they'd like to see addressed and improvements they'd like to see. Almost all of the "criticism" I've seen in this thread also...
