just look at the gap to the second fastest player. It’s insane.

For reference, that’s 0.3kmh faster than Bale was ever clocked. Only 3 footballers have ever been clocked at a faster speed.

VDV is a freak of nature. Hope he can stay fit, his pace is such an asset
Combined with his very mature reading of the game, makes him a very special defender. I think he may well end up being one of the top 10 CBs over the next three years. He is clearly improving week after week. Hard to say what sort of ceiling he has.

I for one had no idea he’d be this good. Funny to think, if you asked me at the end of last season if I would prefer him or Gvaridol, it would have been a no brainer. Now, watching them both, (albeit they play in different systems), we seemingly got the better player.

Happy to see also that his injury doesn't seem to have affected his pace at all. He's been blistering again since coming back.

Ndombele broke the sound barrier that time he thought he heard the ice cream van.

Not really a hot take at this point but I think he's our finest CB. His speed is just an incredible bonus. Not at all integral to his own game but GD does it get us out of jams at times

Zero shade at Cuti, Radu etc. Just praise, not insult.

What's incredible is not just his top speed but his acceleration too. So unusual to have both of those in such a big humanoid.

100%. That's actually the scariest thing about him. I've never seen a CB of his size (or player in general of his size) accelerate as fast as he does. It's insane.

Weird that he wasn't signed by a bigger club, he stands out in pretty much every game. Teams should really scout Bundesliga more, but I'm glad that they don't.

When I was watching the Everton game I was sat thinking he was more like a Rugby winger - remined me of Jonah Lomu with that height and acceleration!
