Used to have a soft spot for Brentford, plucky underdogs with a progressive manager trying to play the right way. That bubble well and truly burst last night - petty time wasting thuggery , glad we fucked them up

Hope this was true

So, it's a bit funny and all that but you can see our players getting wound up and put off their work during the game when stuff like this is going on. I want us to just focus on the performance and getting the job done. All this other stuff is akin to Battle of the Bridge crap. We get put off our stride and other teams see it too. It gives other teams to have a pop and get us in silly situations. We are not there yet in our development just to engage in stuff and still do the business on a regular basis. Doesn't sound like Ange wants this crap spilling over either.

Maupay getting under everyone’s skin will be music to his ears. He is their Cuti and Richie. Wind up merchant and looking for a reaction. Don’t fall for it. Don’t pay him any attention

My personal favourite chant last night was 'Ivan toney, you should have cashed out'
Pretty unoriginal and sung by plenty of other fans already. Plus, lets face it, if Ivan was as good at betting as made out, he would have gone for Spurs coming from behind to win. Much better odds.

You'll never sing that though.

I agree but you could say that our explosive start to the second half was partly a result of them winding the boys up.

I think though our start in first half was good but the we got caught up in the theatrics (after about 10minutes) and lost our minds a bit, then they get their goal and other opportunities. Took a proper team talk, changes and some real impetus to get ahead again. Better not to have that situation in the first place. Ange alluded to it.

You just got to laugh really at these teams who do all they can to wind us up and then complain when we give it back. If Toney isn't tainting us all game then Vicario doesn't respond. Same with what Wilson said about Richarlison, he was asking for it when we played. I love the fight in our players and the fact they all fight for one another. It's like the celebrations, Maddison didn't score but his team mates did the mocking of the celebration on his behalf.

Brentford did what Sheff Utd did but with the delay tactics and dirty play were quick to play forward on the counter. Sadly I think they'll stay up but they're an ugly team. There's always going to be teams like this in the league. At least we gathered ourselves at half time and got the win. Still hope they take points off City next but I think City go on a run now (although they're kind of on one already).

Arsemania

  • Toney on 3 fouls already
  • Offside goal. Lovely clash, these guys understand what the PL is about. Not about stats or control, but about entertaining me.
  • LOOOOOL. You couldnt wait to get your Arteta kick in, and Brentford have capitalised on Sp**s' not controlling things. You are fast becoming my favourite around these parts 😭
  • Tottenham been getting destroyed so far.
  • Mauypayyyyy
  • Atrocious reading from Romero there
  • That initial Toney shot was nowhere near the corner 🧐
  • Toney with a nketiah finish. Thank god for maupay and the race between Jesus and maupay is back to even 4-4
  • Tottenham been getting destroyed so far.
  • They gonna run out of gas 2nd half of season
  • Sp**s are slightly kamikaze at the back hahaha
  • They gonna run out of gas 2nd half of season
  • Look how they sprint up and down the pitch. This is why they have so many injuries I'd say. Ange has had better success in second seasons, but there arent 19 St Mirrens in the PL. Every team is going to make you run for your life if you dont nullify them. Next season will be interesting for the further development of Sp**s.
  • Even 4 goals vs Sp**s won't change the fact that Maupey is a jerk. Mate agains with suicidal high def line
  • That initial Toney shot was nowhere near the corner 🧐
  • How bad was Romero’s defending btw? But yeah Toney doesn’t hit corners, won’t get near 20 goals without pens. He’s very tidy on the ball tho.
  • Everyone hates Maupay and I have no idea why  even I do and I don't know anything about him,
  • How bad was Romero’s defending btw? But yeah Toney doesn’t hit corners, won’t get near 20 goals without pens. He’s very tidy on the ball tho.
  • Apparently this joker is one of the best in the PL, because he has a high WhoScored rating  Has his good points, but otherwise a clown. Not even the best defender in his team FFS.
  • Tbf Sp**s are very entertaining to watch but its not because they play good or interesting football.
  • Nice that in the space of a couple of days, top 3 status has virtually been secured.
  • Their attacking football is good to be fair, they are direct and quick. Their problem is they are so unbalanced in defensive situations. Their almost non existent rest defence forces their defenders to make world class tackles and stops every time the ball is lost. Watch how they sprint back like their lives depend on it. Will be interesting to see what Ange does to bring more balance to their game next season. Because if they continue with this type of football, they will do nothing in the PL.
  • Everyone hates Maupay and I have no idea why  even I do and I don't know anything about him,
  • Take your pick. Punchable face, always trying to wind the opponent up and struts about the pitch like he's not sh*t when he's terrible.
  • He injured Leno and acted like a prick about it
  • TNT commentators are so far up Sp**s dickhole.
  • I know we linked with Toney. But Maupay may be the smarter move
  • He averages 8 goals a season like a certain someone.
  • Maddison 😭
  • Maupay such a ****. 😭
  • Lewis Potter almost killed by Richarlison there
  • All mental games. Sp**s will rise to it.
  • Maupay rattling the whole stadium
  • Did the referees ditch yellow carding for going over 15 sec in throw ins and time wasting at free kicks? Was it only to give us red card earlier this season?
  • Yeah, conspiracy against Arsenal.
  • Seems like it. I see a bunch of warnings being given now.
  • Looking like a classic already, all we're missing is a memorable reducer
  • He has outplayed Toney. Worked much harder, irritated the Sp**s players and encouraging his team mates. Captain performance
  • We don’t need some cheerleader, we have enough of those, we actually need at top striker.
  • Maddison rattled. 😭
  • This Tottenham squad is full of perverts.
  • Maddison rattled, Richarlison rattled, Romero awful defense. Only need Son to cry now to fill your bingo card.
  • Maupays a dickhead
  • Maupay feeling himself tonight 😂
  • Good save Vicky
  • Sp**s are just if not more tedious as us when facing a low block
  • Shhh dont say that out loud mate. Only Arsenal are the most boring football side ever. The rest all play scintillating stuff.
  • Maupay hiding as soon as the ref signalled the end of first half lol
  • Sp**s look so vulnerable to over the top ball for Martinelli. If he use him right he will get five 1v1
  • Not normally a fan of Maupay & his sh!thousery antics but have to say I'm totally onboard with it against the Spuds🤣
  • Yeah people don't understand how hard it can be dealing with a well organised low block. Very few teams have to play against them. It's normally just the very top teams so not sure why Sp**s are facing one tbh😝
  • Udogie 1-1. Weird subs though.
  • Meanwhile Sp**s turn it around in a minute
  • Sp**s cooking lmao
  • 😭 😭 😭 FFSSSSSSS
  • Hope mupay and Romero both sent off. Such likeable bunch
  • Why is it every match i watch today is way more exciting than our matches. I swear we went from the entertainers; to just dull and predictable football
  • 3-1 Richarlison. Atypical Sp**s performance for sure. You fully expected them to mentally crumble but they just ran over Brentford in amazing fashion.
  • Good respond by Sp**s at 2nd half they were awful 1st half. Game over. Still to concede 3 goals in 10 minutes will put lot question mark on frank.
  • Tottenham is cooking, everyone is scoring
  • Found 3 goals in fairness so props to them. First goal was very fortunate mind
  • AM watching this Toney disaster class?
  • Richarlisonnnnnnn
  • Toney 😭😭😭
  • Ivan Toney… missing some interesting chances 🤔
  • Toney looks like he is betting again.
  • TONEY!
  • Udogie is a riot lol
  • hmm you man were talking about Toney too soon. The no celebration lets me know he reads Arsenal-Mania.
  • Udogie is so bad defensively
  • Liverpool have more purpose going forward than us far less predictable. They're much better than what I thought they were. Sp**s are still **** though not convinced but could've used a loss here.
  • 33 goals conceded by Sp**s after 22 league games. These guys lucky their forwards scoring lot
  • Werner you ****house Richarlison was in you ****
  • Imagine Ange finishes above Arteta this season 😭
  • They won't with this defending we boring as hell but we can defend at least
  • I get why you man are bitter about Ange actually, the love in is a bit much the commentators aren't even talking about the game anymore.
  • Hopefully its career ending injury for Maddison.
  • In anycase, if Ange finished above Arteta after being in the league 5 mins with that ridiculously crap Sp**s team then there's nothing left to say really.
  • I'm banging my head against the ****ing wall, we can't beat these guys.
  • TNT commentator said they’re the PL’s great entertainers
  • I heard this but I didn't get if it was a compliment or pointing at their history.
  • no idea how Sp**s won this game
  • Scoring 3 goals helps.
  • Really more Brentford fault unnecessary collapse they haven't been good this season poor defensively
  • What a match, Sp**s deliver once again
  • Toney scrapping Vicario at full time, lovely scenes
  • We lose matches that we deserve to win and Sp**s win matches they deserve to lose. We'll finish above them comfortably.
  • Mupay rattled another team think would've been ugly if Sp**s lost Romero would definitely punched him
  • "Tottenham have won a Premier League game without either Harry Kane or Son Heung-min playing for the first time in 1,837 days."
  • Tbf the pervert duo was holding Tottenham back.

Redcafe (ManUtd)
  • Brentford up. Spurs game has been end to end
  • Maupay is a first class WUM! 0-1
  • Brentford lead at Spurs. Maupay.
  • I don’t care how much charisma Ange has, there’s no sense playing the high line they do
  • Brentford up. Spurs game has been end to end
  • Yeah, good start.
  • Frank is bold, playing two actual strikers at the same time! Hope it is the start of a return!
  • What was the darts thing about?
  • Spuds are such a handbags team.
  • Spurs are lucky it’s only one
  • Harsh to rule that out really
  • Not long turned on the Spurs game, Hoddle isn't biased much
  • That Maupay is an Atletico Madrid player under cover.
  • Feisty
  • Gotta say I appreciate a good wum like Maupay. Keeps the dark arts of football alive.
  • Second time in one half that Kulusevski pushes a player, it was about time he got a yellow
  • Maupay literally got in his face. I don't care about Spuds but if I was on that pitch, I'm leaving one on the cnut.
  • And Maupay got a yellow as well. However Kulusevski had already done it once and wasn’t booked for it
  • Good goal by Spurs.
  • Destiny is the future
  • Spurs Brentford is all action!
  • Spurs 2-1
  • Spurs ahead.
  • That's how you start a second half.
  • Ange making changes right at half time and gets rewarded right away..Please take notes Erik.
  • Spurs 3-1
  • Richarlison makes it 3-1.What a turnaround.
  • Three goals in seven minutes.
  • Spurs are really easy to hate
  • 3 goals in 10 minutes for Spurs, yezuz
  • Spurs are really easy to hate
  • Then you see Toney and Maupay and all the hate fades away!
  • Wish we scored goals.
  • Wow spurs!
  • Brentford are really easy to hate. Maupay & Toney are extremely irritating
  • Love the bit of needle between Maddison and Mauphy in this game. Spurs have turned this game around. Big Ange has done a great job considering how boring and unwatchable they were under conte
  • Meanwhile barely touching a Spurs player is enough to rule out goals for us.
  • Toney scores. 3-2. At least this is a contest.
  • Game on for Brentford
  • Toney makes it 2-3, this game isn`t over!
  • Who was the referee for their game against Tottenham where it felt like decisions were actually awarded against them for once? I can't stand Klopps ranting and screaming at referees but perhaps if ETH got a bit less passive about it, we might get more decisions for us...

Hste to be that guy, but I am guessing youve only gone prem. Over both their careers, Maupay is right

Yes, obviously, because the only way you would legitimately ever compare yourself to a rival is where you've both been playing in the same league? Unless you think that Maupay's 9 goals in the French Fifth Division should count the same, or his 37 goals in the Championship?

That's not even getting started on the fact that Maupay is claiming more goals when he's a striker compared to an AM/10...

Going by what was said, Vicario didn't react at all during the game and left it until after the game to make the comment. So did exactly as you said, doesn't let him get in his head or react during the game and stayed concentrating on the game.

KUMB (West Ham)
  • Villa’s last five:
Aston Villa 1-1 Sheffield United (Villa with a last-gasp equalizer)
Man Utd 3-2 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 3-2 Burnley (last minute Villa penalty to win it)
Everton 0-0 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 1-3 Newcastle
Don’t think they’re making top four. Unfortunately, that means Spurs probably will.
  • They’re the obvious favourites now. Just the 17 games to focus on for them. Maddison back, Son and the AFCON players back soon too
  • Man City / Liverpool win double tonight, with Brentford taking something at Spurs suits fine.
  • Need City to lose to make it easier to catch them. (lolz)
  • Salisbury on VAR for Tottenham-Brentford ; thought that useless pr..k had been binned
  • Toney looked offside to me. Didn't show the lines. Won't complain though!
  • Spurs style makes them exceptionally vulnerable at the back - one of the easiest teams in the league to score against when their opponents have possession.
  • Bloody modern day football fans and their poxy begging signs just to then put it straight into ebay.
  • Loved the Brentford goal celebration, imitating Madison's dart throwing thing. Then Madison taking exception and trying to front them like a spoilt child. Could be 0-3 Brentford by now.
  • The shithousery and time wasting from Brentford is monumental. Refs gotta get on it.
  • Not going to have all 22 on the pitch at this rate.
  • The shithousery and time wasting from Brentford is monumental. Refs gotta get on it.
  • No chance, he's one of the worst / weakest (and that's saying something).
  • Brentford have got their mojo back now that Toney is back. They believe in themselves again. He is a good player Toney, as is Collins at CH.
  • Toney looked offside to me. Didn't show the lines. Won't complain though!
  • No lines because he was miles onside
  • He copied my celebwation. So unfair! That's miiiine😭😭... Maddison is undoubtedly at the right club.
  • Spuds on level terms. 1-1. Edit: spuds winning 2-1
  • 2-1 - Brentford caught out of shape.
  • Blistering attacking from spuds. Brentford shell shocked.
  • ivan toney you should have cashed out
  • Brentford have got their mojo back now that Toney is back. They believe in themselves again. He is a good player Toney, as is Collins at CH.
  • This aged well. ! 😀
  • Bloody hell, Spurs turned that around quickly didn't they
  • Brentford should have been out of sight at half time.
  • Another howler from UDodgie.
  • Yeah, bloke looks a liability.
  • He copied my celebwation. So unfair! That's miiiine😭😭... Maddison is undoubtedly at the right club.
  • After slagging them off before joining them. As you say he's at the right club
  • That's his brother...Liability Udogie.
  • Can’t read his name without thinking of that joke Up Dog
  • Would love nothing more than a last minute Brentford equaliser here.
  • Red card on Udogie there. Brentford really are the Wimbledon of their day.
  • That was the chance.
  • Brentford = Stoke-on-Thames
  • Dunno why but that Brennan Johnson always reminds me of Mr Burns.
