He's also more of a righty no?
He’s like Nico Williams. Both have played a lot on right wing BUT can easily play left just as well. Williams to be fair has been starting LW this season but for the last few seasons Bilbao mostly played him on the right. Both are very versatile. Neto actually has more starts on the left (43) than he does on the right (36) through this career.

I remember watching Neto against Liverpool earlier in the season. He played LW, got an assist and was fantastic all match. Was taking players on and in general a real nightmare.

Problem with Neto is injuries. If he could stay fit he would be top tier. It’s just a gamble. Shame as i really rate him.

I don't massively mind missing out if I'm completely honest. If it wasn't for @Ghost Hardware I would never have even heard of the guy.

I know our model now is to mostly look for younger talents, but with Johnson, Solomon, Kulusevki, Gil, Werner and Son our current wide options, I'm still wary of the fact that as of now, only Son (who may even be moved central again at some point) is one you could rely on to get goals.

I'd still argue that if we're staying true and strict to this model, that we possibly need at least a level up from Nusa in terms of readiness, and I only say that because of who we currently have occupying those wide positions, and when you consider that eventually we've got to the pull the trigger on someone who we strongly believe can replace Son.
Like that Mohammed Kudos guy who went to West Ham as an example.... more 1st team ready than Nusa would have been for where we want to be.

Brentford’s biggest ever sales are to Villa and West Ham aren’t they. Much more likely to get an eventual top tier move from us.
If the player backs himself you'd think he'd look at players like modric, bale, kane, berbatov etc and come to us.

Who knows what's going on right now, player still might turn Brentford down, or we might not be willing to match the offer and he has a choice of Brentford or nothing.

Oh well. Smacks of someone convinced they’re going to tear it up in the PL and then agitate for a big ticket move. Not really the kind of mindset we’re looking for, IMHO.

As others have pointed out, he could just as easily do that here. Assuming Brentford stay in the league, look at the kind of money Palace wanted for Zaha. It’s not like because he moves to a mid to bottom tier Premier League level club they’ll let him go as soon as someone big comes knocking. They might do once clubs starting offering a hundred mill but then again so might we.

He could. Which is why I’d be happy if he goes elsewhere. Players who view us as a stepping stone are not players we want. The mentality and commitment is all wrong.

If it is £30 miilion that would be a record signing for Brentford and they might not even have PL football next season , hopefully zero points on Wednesday and they could be three points nearer the bottom three. In their favour is a points deduction for Forest which puts Forest in the mire.
Would assume they have a buyer for Toney set up for the Summer to finance this move if it happens.

Edit Change that to Euros but still would be the most Brentford have ever paid.

I hate Twitter. I hate social media in general. It is useful for information, but then you gain an insight into human behaviour and you ask yourself, how the fuck did humankind get to a point where we can send people to the moon? :ROFLMAO: We are all kinds of stupid.

It is good that as a club we are planning for Son's eventual successor. It might be Nusa or someone else, but I have confidence we will plan ahead unlike before where we would scramble around until the last day.

The wolves Neto is very left footed.
Almost Kulu levels.

Just a lot quicker.

When they were in the championship you mean?

They’re a premier league side now, and he’ll be able to showcase his talents against the best players week in week out.

A bit different from when Villa and West Ham took punts on a couple of championship players from Brentford.

I’ll be brutally honest - I don’t give a shit that he’s going to Brentford. If we wanted him that much, we’d have got him. I cannot put energy into something that hasn’t existed. Always a buzz when we’re connected to a possible new signing; esp where folk have written positively about him. It appears it ain’t gonna be/ accept & move on

It certainly is a strange one for Brentford, a huge amount of money (for them) for someone so young and unproven.

For the player, it's the right move (imo), much more chance of becoming a starter sooner rather than later.

At Spurs he'd be behind Son, Kulusevski, Johnson, Werner and Soloman. I also don't agree with Spurs "just pay what they want" argument. At 25m that's far too much, that's Bentancur and Kulusevski money.

He looks good and certainly very good for his age, but I'd rather we put that to someone who's a starter now.

He looks a great dribbler but he’s 18 playing in a weak league and hardly put up some big numbers for pretty much the best side in Belgium.

Never seen the kid play but sounds as though he is a big talent - can see why we are reluctant to go over a certain number for him though, the lack of spend from PL clubs this window will no doubt see prices drop when clubs are forced to sell due to FFP,
we should be in a strong position to take advantage and add some proven quality players as a result,, every penny counts more than ever before imo.

jumping to conclusions I know, but if City and Chelsea get hammered by FFP charges and relegated at the end of the season, there will be a fire sale at both club which might suit us! Rodri anyone ?
