Moving on from this then, I see Jonathan Rowe isn’t in the squad for Norwich today but haven’t seen as to why he’s not involved.
Seems plenty of interest in him. He has a broken bone in his hand.

I don't massively mind missing out if I'm completely honest. If it wasn't for @Ghost Hardware I would never have even heard of the guy.

I know our model now is to mostly look for younger talents, but with Johnson, Solomon, Kulusevki, Gil, Werner and Son our current wide options, I'm still wary of the fact that as of now, only Son (who may even be moved central again at some point) is one you could rely on to get goals.

I'd still argue that if we're staying true and strict to this model, that we possibly need at least a level up from Nusa in terms of readiness, and I only say that because of who we currently have occupying those wide positions, and when you consider that eventually we've got to the pull the trigger on someone who we strongly believe can replace Son.

So many reasonable posts, trying to see this transfers from several perspectives. So few meltdowns. It feels like only two weeks ago, people wanted to hang Levy for Bayern putting in a bid for Dragusin.

Could it be... no. Have we really... I don't believe it. Have Spurs Community matured and grown up?
No one was going to hang Levy

Well, if what Ange wants is a player who is 1st-team ready, and there are serious doubts as to whether Nusa fits the bill, it seems quite logical not to get involved in an auction and pay over the odds to inhibit our ability to buy the player Ange really wants.

So while we may be disappointed, it’s seems perfectly sensible to me.

Otherwise we’d have been relying on a young player to do a job he’s not yet ready to do, which would help no one.

I'm not going to get too upset about Nusa because I know little about him. What I did like about this is it appeared to be succession planning for Son which we haven't always done well. Will be interesting to see who our next target is.

Is that us done then? It's a shame we didn't push that bit extra why everyone is shackled by FFP but happy with what we've done

It would seem odd for Brentford to give playing guarantees in the Premier League to a player that isn't playing 90 minutes regularly for Brugge in the Belgian League.....or am I missing something?

Personally I prefer Rowe, so hopefully we go in for him now. Still disappointed to miss out on Nusa if we/Ange liked him, I understand the logic behind the Brentford move but no club can guarantee football. I'm sure they're making all sorts of promises and telling him he'll take over from Toney as the face of the club etc, but it will be interesting to see how long that lasts if he comes in and starts like Bale did for us. If the results aren't coming and they start dropping, the fans get on his back etc then he'll soon find himself on the bench, promise or no promise.

Nico Williams should really be our default number 1 target going forward from this
There is no doubt about that. Sticking point is his €50 mil release clause would need to be paid in one go which we won’t do. If he continues to play as well as he has this season he will be at the top of a lot of clubs lists.

The summer transfer window normally opens ~14th June, whilst I believe the 23/24 Profit & Sustainability financial year runs to the 30th June......there may well be a 2 week window of opportunity to rob any teams that are struggling to hit the P&S limits (within the 3 year rolling window).....particularly any clubs that may have been relying on January sales or are facing relegation (as the Chamionship rules are even tougher).

There really is no such thing as guaranteed playing time and neither Brentford nor anyone else is going to put it in a contract.
