People cling to a narrative and double down on it only seeing things that confirm their belief and conveniently ignoring anything that goes against it. How else can Utd players & fans believe that they should have won or Dim Sherwood doubling down on Pedro Porro being a poor player o_O

We all do it to different levels, nowhere more than on this thread. We see 20 quotes all lifted from an opposition fans site (skilfully cherry-picking the funny / crazy ones) we then take one of those outrageous quotes and fly off the handle that all fans are saying this.

Most of my mates are Liverpool / Utd / Arsenal fans (danger of being a child of the 80's) so the default 'banter' is "warra trophy" but once you get past that predictable opening they all grudgingly admit that they like Ange and what we're doing this year.

Blue moon forum.

Match thread starts Here, and carries on till we'll after the game ends for 70 odd pages. WARNING: It's a horrible website with lots of ads.

Cannot see past a rags win today, Spurs have been very lucky of late.

It’d be comical if Werner does something anti-Spursy and get a hat trick

Romero red card today.

You could write that before any game he plays in and be right most of the time!

It will be quite funny today as they will definitely want to send off a couple of spurs players to even the odds but wont want them suspended against us it will be hilarious watching them balance their love of rags with the hatred of us

That’s spurs bench is terrible. Scum will turn them over
>>>Erm… have you seen the Rags starting 11? ;)

A united win is probably preferable here to keep Spurs at arms length.

I was just talking to my neighbour about the quality of our game yesterday and comparing it with the utter dross just served up by these two (Everton-Villa) . We are so blessed to be able to watch City. The football we play is on a different level.

Great result for us, can see spurs doing a spursy today, want them to batter the rags all over but I got a feeling they aren't going to turn up.

There are prolific trios and then there’s that Spurs front three… The complete opposite of prolific.

Everytime I hear Ten Haag being interviewed I just get that feeling he is just winging it when talking about players and tactics..

Rashford looks like Bet Lynch in those earrings. Wtf?
>>>Crap butcher

For once dont give a fuck who wins……both teams shit and no threat to us……….few yellows and reds would be fun….

1 - 0 Hojlund goal

Bollocks, they've turned another corner and they're back, again.

Spurs high line is perfect for United to exploit. expecting a big United win
>>>Shame they parked the bus against us.

Could that **** of a commentator scream any louder? I've never, ever heard that sort of reaction for us, even the 'Aguerroooo!' moment.

Romero absolutely shite as usual

Spurs being Spursy already but the amount of tImes the ball falls from tackles, deflections right in their path is bordering on witchcraft

The lad hit it as hard as possible 99/100 he’d have put that in the stands ..

5-0 to the scum

We dont need to worry about these 2 shit house clubs. Hope they both lose.

There’s a casualness about Spurs in attack that looks effortless and quite attractive, yet that same casualness at the back makes them look hopelessly lackadaisical.

Interesting comparison is how many Spurs players commit to getting into that lot’s box when they attack and how many of that lot commit the other way. 1 v 3 or 1 v 4.

You can’t expect Spurs to do much but…… they’ve scored at least once in every game they’ve played for the last 10 months (AC Milan 0-0 in March 2023)… which is a pretty crazy stat. They do score goals, got to give them that.

JFE smashes Hojberg around the head. Neville - “Ooh. Elbow.” Swiftly moved on.

1 - 1 Richarlison

That'll do, been coming.

Don’t want to say I told you so…. Always bet on Spurs to score. They might concede 5 though…

Ah that’s what a goal from a corner looks like

Unspursy

Spurs have looked threatening at every corner, and that lot have looked weak in the air.

Neville’s voice has dropped he was giddy as fuck earlier..

Spurs 2nd string midfield controlling the game , all Rags have is the long ball and pace

Only one team looks at home here...

This North London derby is shite.

It feels wrong saying this but come on you Spurs you fucking ****s

Also if we are the most horizontal team in the league, Spurs are easily the most vertical. Do they know they can play the ball sideways?

2 - 1 Rashford

Spurs are soft at the back. Our front line should be able to run riot in the cup.

In an uncertain world you can always rely on spurs being spursy

One of life’s mysteries, Spuds. Consistently roll over for the rags and turn up like prime Brazil for us.

With Maddison and Son, they would turn the rags over. Without them they're nowhere near the same threat

Billion Pound spent and playing like a lower league team v a Spurs team missing half it’s regulars at home

Spurs usually shit their pants at the swamp and with their injury list and Son not available this is not a surprising performance, they got their defence back but lost their midfield and attack, they've only threatened on set pieces

Someone tell spurs they are playing at the Etihad, they will think it’s a cup final

2 - 2 Bentancur

Oh my, what a finish that is.

Bentancur is a solid midfielder

I notice how Spurs' players don't help each other out. They just patiently wait for the ball to come to them.

Werner getting closer!!!! Only a matter of time now :D
>>> Some might say it’s only a matter of Timo..

Werner has an "eye for the spectacular". Sadly not the feet.

Whether he goes on to score or not is irrelevant, Brennan Johnson is absolutely shit
>>> He's consistent. He continously choses the wrong option and pulls out of 50/50's

Spurs play some decent football I think. Maddison and son are big misses.
>>> For sure. I rate Son over Kane, and have done for years. I think we have missed out on Son and he would have fit perfectly into our team.

The flag goes up for a tight offside but only when it's the rags defending their goal

Udogie is fantastic
>>> We should look at Udogie in the window.
>>> how much is he though?

That was real good from Richarlison. I can honestly say that's the first time I've ever said that.

Is Richarlison Tottenham best defender?
>>> He’s done some great defensive work today and worked hard for the team.

Was at the start of the game going to say Spurs don't look up to much.... think I need to reconsider. Not brilliant but will give us a good run for the money.... I believe.

They won’t get many opportunities to win at the swamp like this. The rags have been appalling. Spurs play exciting football this managers a breath of fresh air

I mentioned Udogie on here first time I watched him earlier in the season. He’s class.

Never seen that Van de Ven fella before but he played well today imo

Antony on...
>>>Spurs will be shitting themselves.....
>>> Their girlfriends might be

pass the sick bucket.
Stabilising draw lol, start of an old Trafford new era.
outplayed by Spurs reserves is the reality and a manager who after a few months had a clear playing style v a 400 million spent in 2 years manager who has not improved them

Two shots on target at home against a Spurs team missing their best midfielders and forwards, stabilising nicely in 7th place.

hope we hammer Spurs into next week in the cup. They seem to have become one of our bogie teams over the last couple of years.

Spurs the better side but it all got very ( Rag )ed at the end. The fuckers could have stolen it as well if McTominay hadn't missed a sitter. That Brennan Johnston is crap. Our game against Spurs could be anything, probably 6-6 and we lose on penalties.

Spurs were more impressive than their last few games. I can foresee a high scoring game in the cup tie. However, they look a somewhat limp in the last 1/4.

Ange is a great manager, would love him at City when Pep goes....if we could get him.
Love the bit about "do they know they can pass sideways?"

What a breath of fresh air.

Newcastle Online
  • Spurs starting to get a bunch of solid CBs. Didnt know Dragusin was at the club already
  • Need a spurs win here
  • They look more solid with a few players back
  • Skipp in midfield, no Son and Werner playing...proper shite side, annoyingly comfortable man utd win here
  • Deliberate elbows to the face are okay now?
  • 1-1
    Richarlisn
  • Cracking corner
  • Werner is legit dreadful. Like Almiron with even worse technique and little of the defensive contribution
  • Spurs running the show.
  • I like Werner, I just don’t rate him as a finisher.
  • Garnacho wont get anything out of Udogie.
  • Udogie far to good.
  • Spurs defence is so bad
  • Poor defending from Spurs again, letting Rashford score ffs
  • Spurs defending for both goals has been shocking
They need Royal and Davies back in at CB
  • Really like Vicario. No way is he 6ft 4” though. Always looks tiny for a keeper.
  • Werner 🤣 So useless
  • Fucking hell Werner.

    Proper useless
  • Fantastic half of football this
  • Porro has fantastic delivery
  • Yeah. Brilliant game so far.
Spurs are so good on the ball and working openings. But because of their style, they’re wide open. Some individual mistakes fucking them and all.
    Howay Spurs. Beat these fuckers.
  • 2-2
  • Boom!!! Rocket.
  • Class attack from Spurs starting with a magnificent pass from Romero.
  • That's liquid football
  • Nice by Werner
  • Timo's been good.
Kept it pretty simple and playing with his head up, linking with his teammates.
    Good assist
  • Such an annoying transfer, would have been a perfect option for us especially with the low fee agreed
  • Spurs are superiour in possession
  • Not much is made of Spurs spending 300m in 1.5 windows.
They’ve spent half a billion since the start of last summer.
    Ange the miracle worker
  • @leffe186

  • I also think Ange is great. Just above I said the prospect of peak Ange's style of football is scary. But you have invested a hell of a lot of money in recent seasons. And it’s not mentioned as much as our investment.
I like Ange because he believes in ballers but he also likes a vertical quick game. It’s brilliant to watch
It is not mentioned as much as Newcastles investment as we have been building for the past 20 years to get to that point.

they won the Lottery last year and breached the top 4 shortly after.

Newcastle fans talking about how much we've spent

Nice to see they don't include sales. It's not like we sold our best player in the summer afterall. I'm sure they include the Porro and Kulusevski signings multiple times as well. Not to mention our money is actually generated by us and we're well within ffp. I'm finding it rather bizarre that we get hated on when we're one of the few clubs to do things organically and do well with it.
Its because theyve had the brakes put on their spending.

They all thought theyd be building a deram team and they need to upgrade about 60% of the squad.

But they can't.

They then are us consistently spending, but not overspending, and they can't understand how we are doing it.

It is why the wealthy tend to remain wealthy and a large percentage of lottery winners go broke.

Yeah this is the thing that I find bemusing.

We have got to this point because Levy carefully managed the club and built up the infrastructure. Then the stadium became the game changer.

We have had to be incredibly patient and it has been a fucking pain at times.

Yet fans of these clubs dont seem to appreciate that and think that it is bollocks and they can just spend what they want.

Well, you may get 20 good years, but when the Saudi's decide to move on, the whole infrastructure could collapse.

Exactly.

we are literally the only Premier league side to go a Summer window without signings, now you got fans moaning about how stringent the FFP laws are now after literally watching Man City and Chelsea destroy the competitiveness of this league over the last quarter century with their financial cheating.

i hope they all go bust.

Fans also cant seem to see how bad it is for the football eco system and competitiveness.

Take a look at the Kovacic, Havertz and Mount signings.

Ridículous overspend but that money doesnt trickle down cause it goes to a club who are in trouble from overspending over the years.

Yes you get transfers like Bowen and such but that money doesnt go that for for the smaller clubs really.

Instead you get Liverpool, United and Chelsea buying Benfica's best players for way over the valuation, so that money just gets pumped into Benficas academy and scouting.

And then of course teams like Luton come to the PL and cant really spend much to try and survive yet at the other end you have Chelsea and City feasting and buying who they want.

The gap has significantly widened and the only clubs it has benefitted are the big PL teams.

Championship and lower league teams, what if they have no young talent to sell at 20m? Well, they become at risk because either they have to overspend to keep up, or they get shitty owners who asset strip them.

Look at Norwich, I thought they were a model club, yet someone said they are a little at risk.

It has needed to be reigned in a long time ago.

Football fans seem to think if spending is limited then the quality drops which is bollocks.

It means clubs have to focus more in their academy, coaching and scouting which results in better quality.

The Shed (Knob) End
  • Can’t believe I want a Spurs win
  • Werner starts for the Spuds..
  • A draw wouldn't be a bad result for us..
  • Couldn't bring myself to do that so I've set my hopes on earthquake
  • and with Son in the Asian Cup think Utd will win.
  • How many offsides will Werner and Richarlison have between them I wonder? 10-12?
  • well f**k off manure
  • Great goal that
  • Man Utd look like they're playing a normal front two (Rashford/Hojlund). Great finish from the latter, lashed into the top-left.
  • United’s midfield can still easily get bypassed.
  • 1:1
  • Lmao Werner
  • Same old Timo 😂😂😂
  • There's the Timo we all know and love.
  • Haha welcome back Timo. Still can't kick the ball I see
  • you have to chuckle don't you ... Timo just had a shot at goal... row z 😁
  • Well at least he tried, getting better though at the Bridge that would definitely hit ZZ ...Jackson would have just passed it back to Silva or got his feet tangled under the ball.
  • 2:1
  • Porro's getting eaten out there
  • Werner 🤦
  • Werner still sh*t despite neutrals pretending we used him wrong.
  • Typical Werner finish.
  • Timo still worrying every part of the ground except the goal.
  • Mainoo is being eaten alive in set pieces. But sometimes it is your lucky day 😁😁😁
  • Werner still sh*t despite neutrals pretending we used him wrong.
  • I've had people say to me "he likes the high line so he will do well at Spurs".......morons don't realise that he likes playing AGAINST a high line, not for a team that plays a high line themselves. Even against teams that play a high line, he will be caught offside multiple times a game and miss 10 chances.
  • I never need much to hate on Spurs. I feel it's the duty of every Chelsea fan to participate on that. However, they currently have two players I absolutely hate, Richarlison and Romero. What a pair of total c**ts. They are certainly at the right club.
  • 2:2
  • Haha, debut assist for Timo
  • How do you fix a team whose attacker doesn't want to defend? Play mainoo and eriksen 😭😭😭
  • How do you fix a team whose attacker doesn't want to defend? Play mainoo and eriksen 😭😭😭
  • They should have signed Eric Dier to play as holding mid
  • Manchester united midfield finally make a tackle 😂😂😂
  • Wahey finally! Werner offside
  • Werner off-side. De ja vu.
  • How's Werner doing?
  • Okay he's gone off, I'm not interested any more. Good to see you back Timo. My personal highlight was that attempted scissor kick, would have been very funny had it gone in.
  • From Champions League winner with Chelsea......to Tottenham. Drop offs don't get much worse than that.
  • Like he never left English football. Caught offside when he shouldn't have been, smashed a shot high and wide, hit another wide, still somehow managed to get an assist.
  • No way that's a foul if that was inside the box.
  • That's some miss by McTominay.
  • Good result for us. Spurs did not win, that is always good, and United are around us in the table and did not win, so good to.
  • Haha, debut assist for Timo
  • It's ridiculous that a pass like that is classed as an assist 😅

KUMB
  • Onana starting for Man Utd. Honestly FIFA need to make some solid rules for these tournaments, how is it fair that we lose Kudus but Man Utd (who we're directly competing with for league positions) get to keep their player?
  • dollar dollar dollar yo
  • Cameroon decided to allow him to play. I expect if he was an outfield player they wouldn't have. Also, I expect they want to keep Onana happy after the falling out that happened at the last World Cup. They coukd introduce a rule that after a certain time any squad members can no longer play in club games.
  • The official reason is Onana retired from international football, then signed for Man Utd who said him not having AFCON football was part of the reason they were signing him. Then he was convinced to come back to international football and so they all got together and agreed he’d stay Man Utd until the day before his national team appearance.
  • I read that he chose to stay. He flies out tonight and they play tomorrow. If I’m the Cameroon manager I’d have told him where to go personally.
  • Ange's pre-match team talk: "Lads, it's Man United".
  • Why is Onana there?
  • Money
  • Man United 1 up early doors.
  • Good finish from Hojlund.
  • No thanks to Rashford.
  • Man United 1 up early doors.
  • And what a cracking goal it was , a proper belter , loved it .
  • Got a sneaky feeling MU are going to stuff Spuds here
  • Postecoglou is being "courageous" in playing a high line like this against a team with a pair of passers like Eriksen and Fernandes in their midfield.
  • It's pretty brave to play in such a way.
  • Watching Spurs is a strange experience now as I f****** love Ange!
  • Brave or foolish, we’ll see
  • When you factor in the injuries Spurs have had to put up with, it’s really astonishing where they are in the league.
  • Ten-Hag's teams have a habit of looking a bit naive too. The balance rarely looks right.
  • Spuds have got injuries! When did that happen?
  • Spuds have got injuries! When did that happen?
  • Mate its not as if they are rolling out the under 19’s, they have **** load of depth, f*** em. They are also not in Europe :crylol: so f*** em again.
  • Yeah imagine how much higher they'd be if they didn't have European football adding extra strain to their squad..
  • It's probably no coincidence, though, that they get injuries playing like that. With them likely only playing 41 games in entirety this season, there is no excuse for being tired or getting injuries through it etc. It is on the manager to manage to players workloads. I do think it's played a part.
  • Is they are playing this at Highbury? Could hear a pin drop.
  • Mate its not as if they are rolling out the under 19’s, they have **** load of depth, **** em
  • Do they? A midfield of Skipp, Bentancur and Hojbjerg is awful. I also don’t rate Werner and Romero is a walking liability. Naturally I’ll be made to eat my words now I’ve posted that but I see a manager getting the best out of some average players and playing a style that’s great to watch for the neutral.
  • What's all this passing to the keepers lark then
  • Be interesting to see if it's sustainable.
  • Watching Spurs is a strange experience now as I f****** love Ange!
  • I dont he manages the scum
  • Be interesting to see if it's sustainable.
  • Long term? Who knows. I’m intrigued to see how he does after another summer window.
  • Bentancur is a class player tbf. Good game this. Can see it finishing as a Desmond
  • A draw would be perfect here. Beat Sheffield U, and we are within touching distance of Spurs, with some water between us and Man United
  • As I said its not as if they are under 19 kids, they are all first team players who played plenty last season, so i wont be crying for Ange and they aren’t playing European football.
  • I’m not suggesting he should have any sympathy. Merely that he’s doing better than expected. A lot of us, me included, said on here he’d bomb last summer.
  • That's a tidy goal, that.
  • Great effort by U'dodgy. 2-1 Man U
  • 2-1 manure
  • Is they are playing this at Highbury? Could hear a pin drop.
  • I’m watching the Fiorentina - Udinese game, much better atmosphere
  • They had two pretty average full backs as a CB partnership for a few games. That’s pretty impressive TBH when a lot of top attacking coaches need a pair of £30m to £80m CB’s to make it work
  • When you factor in the injuries Spurs have had to put up with, it’s really astonishing where they are in the league.
  • I don’t think so. I think they’ve been fortunate that the likes of City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Man Utd have all been below par. Also easier when you’re practically playing the league only and no Europe. They were winless in 6 not so long ago.
  • Look forward to hearing how Rashford is now the saviour of mankind again.
  • how is Onana playing thought he was at Afcon
  • Look forward to hearing how Rashford is now the saviour of mankind again.
  • Count our blessings...he's been on a goal drought there ...we're up next, let him break it against them instead.
  • Not watching the game but all the raving about Udogie, he looks a total liability to me, constantly out of position (I know that's the plan) and defensively terrible.
  • how is Onana playing thought he was at Afcon
  • Special treatment. There was a Cameroon guy on R5 saying he thought it was wrong, bad for the team etc. he's due to join up like a day before their first game I think.
  • Cameroon play tomorrow at 5pm. Surely there is a chance he doesn't play.
  • He isn't going to play tomorrow I don't think. Will be back in for the 2nd game.
  • I would've thought Ten Haag would've driven Onana to Cameroon on New year's Day himself, to be honest.
  • Not watching the game but all the raving about Udogie, he looks a total liability to me, constantly out of position (I know that's the plan) and defensively terrible.
  • I'm quite impressed with him, and think Moyes should be looking at a sneaky bid this month. I guess though the board would have to ask themselves "How much is Udogie in the window? Apologies.
  • That was a well taken goal by Marcus Rashford.
  • Tottenham level in less than a minute at the start of the 2nd half
  • Onana is awful.
  • That was a well taken goal by Betancur .
  • fixed it for you !!!!!! :crylol:
  • Seems an unfair advantage when some AFCON bound players are allowed to play for there clubs when others can’t.
  • Man Utd are woeful. They’re making Spurs look far better than they are.
  • Udogie with dive of the season there, outstanding work.
  • The more I see of some of these players that have come out of Ajax, the more I realise how well we done with Kudus and Alvarez compared to Antony, Onana, Van de beek etc.
  • Udogie with dive of the season there, outstanding work.
  • Ref bottled the yellow
  • Manure are going to be really lucky to hang on here. They look like absolute rabbits in the headlights against a team who are really pressing them. My worry is when we play them, we will sit off as always and allow them to settle and build confidence.
  • Hopefully manure nick this and we can do them when we visit
  • Onana is awful.
  • Wan-Bissaka ain't far behind him
  • Brush of the hair and Richarlison down :crylol:
  • This second half has lacked quality and commitment. Neither side can defend.
  • Draw probably best for us I think.
  • This second half has lacked quality and commitment. Neither side can defend.
  • And yet, only one goal in the very first minute of it and few goalmouth incidents, so not saying much for the quality of attackers either.
  • The more I see of some of these players that have come out of Ajax, the more I realise how well we done with Kudus and Alvarez compared to Antony, Onana, Van de beek etc.
  • Nice to see we’re not the ones being mugged off for once. Anthony is an utter clown though. £80m? Christ.
  • Should have scored
  • You can’t miss that. Time, space only a few yards out. Awful miss
  • Most ideal result for us really.
  • A comment on the BBC commentary, ‘Harry Kane in this Tottenham side and they would be champions.’ Ben, Sheffield. You can say what you like about Spurs fans but there’s no denying that they have a fantastic sense of humour.
  • When he left their fanbase suddenly turned and said he never turned up in big games :crylol:
  • "Mate, we're really undermanned this week...I've only got my £55m centre forward, my £90m centre backs, my £60m full backs, some bloke Chelsea paid £70m for...mate, what's a bloke supposed to do?"
  • The hype around this bloke is insufferable at times. 'Swashbuckling' Tottenham without any Europe just 6 points in front of West Ham 'set up for a draw' United FC who have a game in hand over them whilst balancing Europe at the same time.
  • Amazing. If we beat Sheffield we will be only 3 points behind the Spuds. I've no doubt they will end up above us but considering the hype that they've had I find that reassuring.
  • Much as I can't stand them, just like everyone else on here, a lot of the hype is probably because they do actually play some pretty decent football.

Chelsea’s own drop off in that time has been worse. Currently 9 points worse.

They've been a money-laundering operation for a Russian billionaire, who dipped the minute it looked like his millions might be at risk, it's not surprising there's a bit of a hangover when the guy they worshipped just dumped them for some tanks.

From Kumb on Udogie...

I'm quite impressed with him, and think Moyes should be looking at a sneaky bid this month.

A sneaky bid? Slightly better than mid-table West Ham, of Bristol Rovers 1-0 West Ham fame, should put in a 'sneaky bid' for a player who's just signed a new 6-year deal at a club where he's playing the football of his dreams? Do they think if we don't notice the 'sneaky bid' Udogie will magically appear at their running track and start playing for them?

I guess that's what you can do when you're 'Champions of Europe' though.

This post rounds off the top half of the table for our last match.

The North Stand (Brighton)
  • NCU vs ManC was the best PL game of the season according to some comments on BBC Sport.. Fact? I didn’t see the game.
  • No chance. Our game vs spurs was better. This was a training ground session for city with attack vs defence. Us vs spurs was two teams going for it. There will have been many better games. Two worldies should not hide the fact that Newcastle were defensive and dire packing it out. Well done city.
  • Spuds win to keep Man U below us (and us a game in hand), yet allows Spuds to pull further ahead, or a draw which puts Man U ahead of us, yet kinda keeps Spuds in reach? Difficult, but I think I'd opt for a Spuds win....or do I?
  • Yes, you do. We probably can't catch Spurs, but we can stay ahead of United. I am not so sure we can’t catch them. Granted you say probably but if United beat them and we can beat wolves again then it is only a five point gap and we play them again in a few weeks.
  • Jim Ratcliffe, who is in the process of buying 25pc of Manchester United and becoming the boss’s boss, is about to see them play in the flesh for the first time since starting his tortuous negotiations with the Glazer family. “I am very excited to be here,” he told PA, “but I can’t answer any questions, really, because that would be inappropriate...” Is that it, then? Not quite. “It’s a big match,” Ratcliffe added. “We normally do well against Spurs!” Up to a point, Lord Copper. The PA report continues: “Asked if his deal was as exciting as anything he has ever done, Ratcliffe smiled and said: ‘Correct. Yes. I have done a few exciting things, but this caps it all. There’s no question about that.’” "What? More exciting than backing Brexit, then switching production of one of your SUVs from Britain to Austria?”
  • Just hoping this one is slightly more entertaining than Everton Villa
  • Right. Fernandes to get sent off for having a fight with himself. C'mon
  • Never thought I would be doing this but come on Spurs... I feel sick.
  • 1-0 Hojlund
  • hit that some
  • Pfffft
  • Ugh
  • I’ve got to mute Sky, this commentator is probably wearing a ManU scarf and the neutral pundit is Gary Neville.
  • hit that some
  • Reminiscent of Jack's opener against Spuds

  • Screaming Peter Dury...Can't stand him
  • I’m still not sure what result we want here. So I guess that means a draw, ideally…? 🤷‍♂️
  • Richarlison equaliser
  • Neville: "Dominant in the air, Manchester United, back there" 1-1, Richarlison header
  • I’m still not sure what result we want here. So I guess that means a draw, ideally…? 🤷‍♂️
  • I think Spurs will finish higher than Utd, therefore it has to be a Spurs win, right?
  • I’m still not sure what result we want here.
  • 6 season ending injuries each
  • Hadn't realised that stat which just came up: our run of scoring in consecutive games which ended at Arsenal was the fifth longest run in PL history!
  • I think Spurs will finish higher than Utd, therefore it has to be a Spurs win, right?
  • It's not as simple as that. You also have to work out where we'll finish - if we can just pip Utd, then yes, we want a Spurs win, but if Spurs should finish above Utd and we can pip them both, then maybe we want a Utd win. Without a crystal ball, we can't tell, but my guess is we want a Spurs win, as we're unlikely to finish above them, and have a better chance of beating Utd to one of the last European places.
  • At this stage of the season we always want draws for any teams playing each other that are around us surely?
  • Staggering that Rashford keeps getting picked for United, he has been dreadful this season. He just runs into defenders and smacks shots into the side netting.

  • 😂😂😂 2-1. Rashford
  • FFS
  • Tuned in 10 minutes ago. No way Spurs are winning this despite being a much better team. They are arrogant. Passing the ball slowly like they are City. Johnson poor. Werner passes back. Hoberg slow. Van de Ven thinking he is Maldini. Absolute mugs. Might end 2-2 but that's the best they will get. Shame as we could do with United losing. That said, every win keeps Ming the Merciless in charge for longer.

  • Any chance you can write:- 'I dunno why Stat plays Euromillions - he never wins anything'.
  • At this stage of the season we always want draws for any teams playing each other that are around us surely?
  • Obviously a draw means 2 points to our rivals instead of 3, but come the end of the season you could look back and wish one of them had zero. The problem being that we don't know who our rivals for the last Euro spots are yet. We don't expect City to be our rivals, so we want them to beat teams like Utd. With Spurs, it's less clear. I think we can relax in the knowledge that what we want won't affect the outcome, so just enjoy the game (I'll be cheering against Utd though).
  • We must want Spurs to win this , they are 8 points ahead of us and United on the same points. It's realistic to think we might finish above United but not Spurs . Shirley ? We are in a mini league with West Ham, United, Newcastle and Chelsea.
  • Sorry all, entirely my fault 😢. Timo Werner is a sack of shite and Fernandes will never get a straight red.
  • This is not going to plan. Spurs can you win or at least draw? Thanks (y)
  • @WhingForPresident please can you post “Porro never gets booked” 😂
  • @WhingForPresident please can you post “Porro never gets booked” 😂
  • No way Pedro Porro will get booked, he is very disciplined and would never make a rash tackle or call the ref a twat.
  • Nice reminder of how well we did v Spurs at home with loads out today. They have 2 CBs back but no Son so similar team. Was a top night and result that even if they did come back at end a little…

  • A draw is the lesser of two evils. A point behind United and Spurs still catchable. There is no ideal result though
  • There is no ideal result though
  • There is, Richarlison and Bruno have a massive fight. Be interesting who fell to the ground clutching their heads first.
  • Spuds play some good football going forward, like a less polished Brighton
  • A draw is the lesser of two evils. A point behind United and Spurs still catchable. There is no ideal result though
  • A draw all day long, neither team getting three points.
  • No way Pedro Porro will get booked, he is very disciplined and would never make a rash tackle or call the ref a twat.
  • Bugger  Thanks for trying :lolol:
  • Thought he was going to get it for that tackle on Rashford! Sorry 😔
  • Good result for us that.
  • A draw all day long, neither team getting three points.
  • If we miss out on Europe by 1 point to Utd, I'm blaming you lot
  • We go above them again with a draw or more a week Monday. Then I’m very much looking forward to hosting them at the Amex,
  • Spurs looked content with the draw . We would of kept pushing. Over rated that lot.
  • Dead on their feet
  • Win v Wolves and we're six behind Spurs. We're playing them fairly soon - could be a real six-pointer.
  • That's far from a given. They're a decent side now and aren't we historically garbage on Monday nights? Got a draw written all over it. Please be wrong. Please be wrong. Please be wrong.
  • If we somehow finish above Spurs, I am 90% certain we’ll have a higher points total than last season and be in at least 6th again. It would be a remarkable achievement.
  • I watched 2 games this weekend. Newcastle v City and Utd v Spurs. Both very entertaining. I think we could beat 3 of those 4.
  • Er..we already have👍 it's Burnley and Sheffield United we can't beat
  • Brennan Johnson?! £47m?!!!! How is he so cr*p?!!!!!
  • Fancy us against spurs in the second match (which probably sounds obvious after the recent result). Their inverted full backs are wonderful but it results in a hell of a lot of space down the wings. Mitoma and Adingra might not be back, finals are both around the date of our match, but either way RDZ will identify how much space teams can find behind their 'full backs'. Starting to feel we might start looking up rather than down at the chasing pack in a few weeks.
  • Well, it could have been worse.
  • There is, Richarlison and Bruno have a massive fight. Be interesting who fell to the ground clutching their heads first.
  • I don't think they need to have a fight for this to happen , perhaps they both lock eyes :catfight:

Jesus wept those Brighton fans are insanely arrogant after one decent season, talking as though they will just go and turn teams over, one win in 5 Seagulls, one in five.

Brighton fans lol

We'll fucking murder them with our boys back.

That was the weakest eleven we put out all season against them.

I disagree. Brighton are a well coached team that can cut through teams. There will be many goals next time we play them.
