He now gets 13 days to train and get to know his teammates and most importantly, build up his fitness to be effective in this system.

Excited to see how well he thrives with Maddison and Deki on the pitch.

We need to discuss that over head shot, a meter and a half down and we're looking at the goal of the season.

Otherwise, I'm impressed. He looks way more confident than he did in a Chav kit.

Not bad at all for his first real game of the season in a new system at a new club.

He's a forward, never a striker. His speed and the way he causes defences to shift will give Son and co a great many chances IMO.

He’s a 1 in 4 chances per goal ratio I think that’s what we get with him if he can contribute 10 goskd score or assist then it’s a decent loan

Thought he did well enough considering the context. He looked a little lost at times but that’s because he is new into the team and has barely had a week training with us. Worked his socks off too.

Thought he did well for the game time he's had and the length of time he's had to adjust. Think he'll do well, especially with players coming back that can find him in space and make things happen around him. Now he's got a couple of weeks before we play again so he'll get to bond with them and understand how we play a bit more

Sounded really happy in the interview for german SKY a minute ago.

Said good stuff about Anges plans, loves the stadium and training ground and is really up for the next games.

Ahead of Johnson for me right now

Him left, Son middle, Deki right and Maddison behind them sounds tasty.

More or less what we expected; a lot of effort, recycled the ball well rather than taking risks, some dangerous looking runs, never had any faith he'd finish his chances. I like him.

Pleased with his overall game despite the two comical attempts on goal. His work rate was good, movement off the ball was excellent and the pace on his passes were surprisingly sharp. He caused problems and i suspect as he settles in, he'll cause even more.

Very promising start from Werner. Once he gets fully fit his speed on the left of the front three will be something! The squad is most certainly taking shape and we are only in Ange’s second window. Exciting times. COYS!

Thought people were way too harsh in the match thread. Got into some good positions and looked to try and take on his man even if it didn't always come off.

Will look even more of an asset when there'll be even more space behind and creative players to play him in more often.

Still early but I think we'll use that option to sign him. Even if his finishing is shit now he has elite pace and he's smart (usually) in the final third.

That's not like them.

I know it’s completely dumb and absolutely a terrible business choice but I’d take up that option early and let him know he’s staying. It’s all about the vibes now.

Having watched that and not knowing which winger was brand new to the team, you'd have probably guessed at Johnson.

I thought Werner was solid for a first run, given he's probably not even really match fit.

Johnson, on the other hand, wasn't good. I really want him to do well, what with him being Welsh, but he seems way too timid to me.
