It feels like we're picking up Serie A talent like Wenger picked up Ligue One talent.
Players from Serie A tend to adapt well to the Premier League I feel but yea with Don Fabio puppetmaster pulling the strings from underground we are hoovering up the talent, love it.

Koulibaly, Scamacca, McKennie, Pogba, Lukaku, Arthur Melo - it’s very easy to blow an incredible amount of money on crap from Serie A, we shouldn’t undersell how important it has been to have Paratici picking the targets.

Bergkamp, Vieria, Henry, Di Matteo, Zola, Guillt, Vialli, Ravinelli, Asprilla, Van Der Sar, Salah, Desially, Allison, Jorginho, Paqueta.

Your point is true though some Serie A players for big money to PL have flopped so yes important we’ve had Fabio to sign us the right ones at decent prices.

I just want to take a moment to really appreciate how much our club has transformed in 6 months. From the coaching side, to the structure of the footballing side at the club and obviously the improvement in style and overall performances. All of that is huge, and it is pretty shocking how it all seemingly is coming together at the rate it is. We still have a long way to go, but this was the surgery the club needed. And honestly, Levy deserves credit for this. Sure, it sounds like he's still meddling, and hopefully over time that's more and more rare. But, we've seen how it can be beneficial in certain scenarios (Porro and now apparently with Dragusin). But, he's making changes. Significant ones, and while some will point to this should have happened long ago, I'm just taking the view that I'm glad it's happening, at all.

That being said, looking at the squad, with Dragusin and Werner, we are looking really sound at a lot of positions. There is most definitely work to do, but even seeing the club being willing to throw in Spence for an option of only 10m is a sign of growth, in a way. Hopefully that continues to be the trend as we look forward and try and right the wrongs of years past. It really is feeling like a fresh start, top to bottom, inside and out. And we have been pining for so long for this, and it's really awesome to see it starting to actually happen.

I know this post is kind of off-topic for the Dragusin thread, but it feels like Dragusin could be a sliding doors moment. He's a 21-year old defender, lots of potential, and he chose Tottenham over Bayern. It feels significant, it fosters belief in what Ange is doing and where we are going as a club.

A good and well balanced post, cheers for that.

Levy did appoint Paratici and Ange and I'll give him credit for that.

I wish he would listen to them more and keep his beak out, as it's cost us so many times over the years.

We should never have been in this position where we were this desperate for the CB depth Ange was asking for last summer.

What infuriates me most is the possibility that the points dropped post Chelsea end up costing us Top 4 or even a championship.

Looking forward however it's fantastic to get Dragusin and the squad is really coming together nicely.

On top of that we've got some truly outstanding talent coming through the academy.

If we can play the next 18 months right then the future could be something really special.

You’re too old to cry over a football player mate.

I’ll let your son off though (assuming he is the obligatory 11 years old).

I had wet eyes in 2010 when Crouchy’s goal v Man City got us into the CL for the first time

I was a young 54 then

Come on mate, you can drop the tough guy act here, we all need a good cry sometimes.
Bring it in big lad, bring it in. 🫂

Obviously what was covered off in this all sounds great. Im excited for this signing.

also…… The Italian reporter in this clip was brilliant. Very impressed with the way she delivered that insight.
Yeah, Mina Thingamabob is very good, she's a regular on many BBC things and always speaks well.
She knows her onions and Joey Barton probably hates her.

I've said it before but it's a great market to be shopping in. The big Italian clubs that would usually snap these players up, can't compete financially right now. Also helps that we have the number one guy for finding and facilitating the moves for these players as far as Italy is concerned.
Also to add in general the quality of Seria A has really gone up over the last few years. Juve are no longer dominating the league and a lot of clubs play their youth players due to limited finances. There’s been a notable shift away from defensive slow paced football. Yes it’s still tactical but it’s less static and far more aggressive.

With the shift towards more attacking football mixed with teams relying on youth, ether from within Italy or abroad, you end up with somewhat a hot bed of well developed young talent. It really is an excellent league to farm at the moment. The fact Inter got to the CL final is proof enough the league is having a resurgence of late. For me personally it’s my second favourite league after the PL.

Brexit had a lot to do with that as English and Scottish teams can no longer pick up young players from Ireland and Scandinavian countries. These players either stay in their domestic leagues or end up predominantly in Italy.
