We can beat United with what we have, with Mickey back for 60-70mins. If we get 2 players in within 10 days of the window opening at all, it will be a sodding miracle, never mind week one.
It's never as simple as just agreeing a fee before the window, or just paying a few mil more for expedience. So much goes on behind the scenes that we'll never be privy to (this image rights thing popping up being a perfect example), never mind the whole thing being predicated on the other club and the player also willing to play ball which they invariably are not. Not a single Prem team has signed a single player thus far. Not even on loan, as far as I can see. I imagine every fan is raging, as they always are every window from minute one. It's just not that simple. We all know it.
If it's going to get done, it'll get done, which is what counts

We can all agree that we messed up with the CB positions in the summer.
However, thinking this kind of deal could be done in December isn't really based in reality. Not a single club in the PL have bought a player so far this window.
If we have two new players available for our first PL game in January, it would be beyond impressive from the club, as opposed to inexcusable if it doesn't happen.

There have been no bids rejected as there have been no bids go in. It's literally been a constant negotiation between the two clubs. Most of the stuff regarding Napoli was bullshit, and I expect this image rights stuff is just the Italian press trying to save face for being so wide of the mark. I've stayed clear of commenting on this one because I've not had a running commentary on it like others have had, but as of this evening I expect it to be done quite quickly now.

Yeah the market isn’t really a “get it done in December” kind of place.
FWIW if we don’t have another CB by end of the window then we definitely have fucked up massively. x

I get it can be frustrating but it’s just how we do things we should know this haha we have suffered enough with transfer sagas. Also for myself and anyone else who is fortunate and kindly enough to share info we do it in good faith with a laugh and a joke hahaSeemingly not quick enough for some!
