Just won the awards for Sweden's Best Player of the Year (Guldbollen) and Midfielder of the Year. For those of you who either know Swedish or have the patience to read a Google-translated interview, I can recommend this one. It's a great read and gives insights into his personal life, and how he's a mentality monster.

He had this to say about Ange for example.

You have had many great coaches, who do you have the warmest feelings for?

– Of the great ones...? Let me think now. I've learned so much. At Atalanta, it started with Gasperini. I was young, I was hungry, but I didn't get to play, and I thought it was his fault. But it was my fault. So I learned from him, it was hard work. The Italian style was also present with Conte, just hard work and a lot of grinding.

– But... I had a great coach at BP (IF Brommapojkarna), Andreas Engelmark, who helped me a lot in my younger years. And now... what I feel for this coach (Postecoglou) at Tottenham, it's something new, something completely different. It's something I've never had before, truly. The mentality, the training sessions, the playing style... If my dream was to play football in a certain way, it would be like this. If I were a coach, I would surely set up a team in a similar way and try to win matches, never thinking about what happens if we lose.

– I am very impressed by him, very lucky to learn from such a man.
Love that!

Puzzles me this bloke.

Some games he looks like he’ll run over the top of everyone and in others he dithers, dithers and dithers.

And it was the latter tonight.

Sometimes he really frustrates me, if he is going to slow the play down he needs to start delivering when doing it.

Would like to see Brennan and Deki swap positions during games. If it's not working for Deki on the right, have him to the left and try to influence the game on that side. It seems pretty evident that Johnson is much more effective on the right as well.

Love him but fuck he’s frustrating sometimes he’s just so easy to mark out of a game it’s when teams don’t respect him though that he comes alive.

He’s been poor for a few weeks not so he’s due a motm vs utd

I’d been thinking this about all of our forwards to be honest. Wish Son, Richarlison and Johnson would all interchange positions more in the games (maybe it’s something that will come more once we really have Ange’s system down).

We have this group of forwards that are pretty unique. None is an out and out striker but they all have differences. Imagine a defender having to deal with Richie’s style and then it switching to son’s speed and two footedness? Or a defender needing to to watch out for Deki cutting in and then Johnson burning them down the outside?

We’ve collected this bunch of versatile forwards that could actually be way more dynamic. We have quality up there but it still seems like a weak part of the pitch right now.

Couldn't have expressed it any better. We already have a dynamic style of play where the FB's have a ton of freedom to step into the midfield and even further up the pitch, why not make it even more dynamic and encourage the attacking players to interchange and make even more difficult for opposition teams to predict our approach.

As you added, it's probably one of the features of Ange's system that will hopefully develop with time. Glad we have 2 or so weeks after the United game for Ange and the coaches to put on a mini "pre-season" camp and work on refining those elements of his system.

Thought he was poor tonight on the wing and invisible when he moved into midfield. He had a couple of opportunities to really shoot cutting in off the left but the efforts were underwhelming. Feel like he needs a break and a chance to recharge as he has carried a big workload and has been off for a few games now.

Another player with a strong work ethic, bags of integrity, works his socks off, highly coachable, unfazed by the moment, doesn’t give up, always conducts themself professionally and a great teammate.

It is so good to see our scouting prioritizing the above when they assess players.

Deki, Lolo, Porro, VdV, Udogie, Davies, Vic, Madders, Romero, Sonny, PEH, Dragusin (😊😊😊), Sarr… all embody the above.

Its a rumour guys - its just information that you can believe or not.

He is not pictured in training today. That could mean an injury, an illness, personal matter, or a training partner for Maddison.

So, while unsubstantiated - there is some basis for concern - with the caveat, there is nothing we (supporters) can do about it if he is missing - next man up.
