  • United are going to thrash them to establish yet a new false dawn which will force him & his fellow bilge rats to run back to their warrens. "Yet to play them at home". If we had our frontline firing on all cylinders like last season they'd lose by double digits trying to play their idiotic highline against us.
Your top scorer has 6 goals this season. Richarlison has 5 in his last 5 and Son has more than your front 3 combined. I can't wait for this game we are going to create such an atmosphere and come flying out the blocks at them Hopefully we will be close to full strength in April as well. Arsenal Crumble will be on the menu. It feels set up for us to end up above them after that game.

Arsemania, following on from this point yesterday

  • How are they within 1 point of us? I keep dismissing them due to squad depth and supposed reliance on Maddison but looks like I was wrong. Let’s see how they get on without Son I suppose. Fair play to them though, I don’t think they even spent that much.
  • They have had a lot of injuries but think the Son absence will bite them hard. He’s their only reliable goalscorer. Will soon join us in the boat of no one to score goals unless Richarlison catches a bit of fire
  • Hard to know what to make of them. Results largely impressive, exciting attacking football, but when you watch their games they concede a lot of chances, and they have outperformed their xG differential by a significant margin. Could go either way, and hard to call at this point in time, as it feels a bit Emery at Arsenal first season.
  • We've been playing without Partey,Timber,Tomi which is a huge element in helping us control games. White and Saka have been carrying a knock and Zinchenko defenisively is not as good as Tomi. This idea that Sp**s have the most injuries is idiotic, every team has had to deal with them. Aside from the Fulham match you can't point to a game where we did not look better but didn't win because of poor finishing whereas they have had many matches that could have gone against them if the other team took their chances, it's very Emery-esque and will be found out eventually.

I love that he mentions 3 of their own injuries plus 2 knocks and thinks it is somehow comparable!

I'm sure we all remember at the start of the season when other fans said we would be found out as soon as we played someone decent. 20 games in and it looks like that feeling is still there. I think there are going to be a lot of people surprised when our key starters get back to fitness and we put together another run.

Cool xG story, bro. Better get my xG expert to come and value it. When you say significant margin, do you mean a statistically significant margin?

So bored of hearing this about it. Why not say that they have nothing to pick at, so they'll argue about imaginary goals that weren't scored.

This chat about timber…. The guy player half a prem game… how do they even know what he really offers or how he’d take to the prem.
Partey they played at right back and he looked woeful, tomiyasu has been constantly injured and hardly a key starter

What a clueless bunch of pricks they are on Arsehole mania.

They lost Saliba last season and it totally derailed their entire campaign - 1 player!

imagine they lost him, Gabriel, Rice and Odegaard - they would be bottom half.

anyway, fuck ’em, the most brittle fan base in history perfectly reflected by their brittle players.

This really is a new level of delusion. The following is a list of players who have missed at least 2 match day squads (who would be expected to be in them). I left out Romero and Bissouma as their absences are largely self inflicted, but obviously we are now missing Sarr and Romero going forward as well.

arsenal
Timber (missed 19)
Partey (15)
Viera (9)
Tomiyasi (6)
Jesus (5)

Spurs
Perisic (15)
Bentancur (15, but only 2 starts)
Solomon (13)
Maddison (9)
VDV (9)
Johnson (6)
Lo Celso (5)
Udogie (3)

plus Sessegnon all year, Romero and Biss have missed 5 each.

So they’ve had 2 first teamers miss time. Their most important 5 players (Saliba, Gabriel, Rice, Odegaard and Saka) have missed 3 between them. We’ve had 5 first teamers miss time, and our 5 most important players (debatable of course but for me Cuti, VDV, Bentancur, Maddison and Son) have missed 38.

finally, Partey is the only first teamer currently out. We have 5 or 6 depending on your view of our first choice midfield

While ignoring the fact that a team with Vicario who is a really good shot stopping keeper and Son, who has always significantly outperformed his XG make it statistically likely that we will outperform our XG differential.

It's nobody's fault but Arteta's that Arsenal decided to swap out a keeper who was doing really well for them for one who seems significantly worse in terms of saving shots, while adding one of the worst three finishers in the league in Havertz to the two they already had in their ranks in Nketiah and Jesus.

Didn't Richarlison also miss a fair chunk for us?

I wonder how Liverpool fans would react if they had Van Dijk, Matip, Szoblaszai out now whilst Endo and Salah are also away on international duty. They can tell everyone else to just suck it up, but the moment they drop points (and they would) we'd be expected to feel sympathetic for them.
They wouldn't be going for sy.oathy, they would be going to go ernement protesting for thr league to be paused until their players were fit again.

Full on muppets

Since the replay demands after our game, they literally get th3 softest calls going

  • Sarr goal for Tottenham, just before he leaves for the AFCON :D.
  • Another misplaced goalkeeper pass for the goal at Spurs, though Bournemouth are coming into to it now. Watching So Lanky
  • That Tottenham goal is leading a charmed life , Bournemouth should have scored at least 3
  • Sarr goal for Tottenham, just before he leaves for the AFCON :D.
  • Unless his leg is ****ed
  • Well that does us no favours does it? I'm sure Hughton will be watching and giving us even less chance...
  • Bournemouth camped in Spurs half for much of that 45. Bit more quality and they might be level or even in front. Between them they have had two or three injuries so far. Players doing hamstrings and stuff.
  • I genuinely don't think Arsenal are that good. Their front three is far behind Man City and Liverpool, even teams like us and Tottenham match up well. Odegaard is a fabulous player, as is Rice, and Saliba will be one of the world's best. But other than that. Raya is average, White is average, Zinchenko is a rubbish defender, Havertz is average and no where near worth what they paid. They'll finish 4th.
  • If we're going to offer Bournemouth good money for a player, it should be Scott not Solanke. Excellent cameo in a game where Bournemouth played a lot of easy on the eye, but totally inefficient football. Two shocking goals conceded. Solanke looks like a backward step on the basis of this one game. God knows how many new injuries Spurs have - they ran out of subs.
  • Great news to end the year
  • Amazing just how irritated Arsenal fans get when you point out their title challenge has gone all Spursy.
  • Red Spurs imploding is no surprise to me. I said when the Irish DM went there that they lacked the mentality to win the league.
  • You can understand why Houghton denied our request re: Mo after seeing Sarr walk off the pitch injured and in tears. Senegal must be fuming.
  • Senegal must be fuming.
  • That he played a game for the team who pay his wages in which he scored and they went on to win? The only person who should be fuming is Moyes if he watches our direct rivals win points with players of their choice and we have to scrape one together.
  • Also true. Both things are true. Of course you’d be fuming if a player you were counting on gets injured and can’t join the squad. Silly to suggest otherwise.
  • Just watching MOTD2 and their 5 min wrap/roundup of the years highlights… not one mention of West Ham! Spurs must have have been shown 4 or 5 times, and Arsenal’s famous draw at Kenilworth Road got the praise, but nowt for us!
  • say one thing about Ainge.. when the bloke whoever he was had the interview after interviewer said "you're 1 point behind Arsenal" and he didn't miss a beat and said "we're 3 points off the top" and the interviewer didn't say a word and just went on ........
The Shed End
  • Hate to say it, but the Brighton v Spurs game was a great watch. Another 18 yo rapped in a decent goal for Albion then Estupinan scored a rocket. Woodwork hit several times and nearly a f**king Spurs comeback. I was thinking about how Ange has transformed the way Spurs play. He took an established team full of PL, experienced players. Could he have done it with an inexperienced, young, new players without PL experience at Chelsea. Dunno, would have been more difficult than what he had at Spurs. Im still baffled how Brighton manage to play the way they do , but it's enjoyable to watch. Good week though, we win, North London get battered 🤣🍺👍.
  • Can Fulham pull off another handsome home win or will Arsenal dismantle them? Will Bournemouths amazing run carry on or end at Spurs. Normally we would want Fulham and Bournemouth wins but...ah we still want them to win!
  • Ah dispointing from Bournemouth. Thought they would get something today.
  • Spurs are a point behind them now. Pool will win tomorrow as Newcastle are physically spent, if they were not and Pool did not win 1st to 5th would be covered by just a couple of points.
  • As long as Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Utd , etc etc don't win the title I'm happy

This is like saying if Vicario wasn't as good at his job as he is we would have lost more games
