Arsenal Mania
  • Hard to see how Sp**s will cope without the "Best CB in the league ™️"
  • We're in trouble if he actually manages to not get another string of Ls with Son leaving to Asian cup, what a season they're having.
They're fully exploiting the lack of quality in the league, 10 years ago those tactics would have them in 17th place.
  • Ange 3 pts off the top with a ridicolous number of injuries and players who dont fit his system. Only six months, traditionally his weakest period. Its more about the league weakness than Sp**s being the real deal yet, but its a worry when he starts recruiting his own players which he is generally excellent at doing and the team have adapted to his ways
  • Tottenham are now 4 points from 1st, despite missing half their team for the past 2 months. January-May, I would fear Tottenham as much as 2nd half of the season Manchester City.
  • I fear Sp**s as well...in the same way I fear Crewe Alexandria
  • So the logic is that we aren’t allowed to fear Tinpottenham because they haven’t been a threat earlier season? Not sure I agree with that logic Clive. I am saying this with a heavy heart but they play amazingly well offensive football and I don’t see why they won’t keep it up til the end of the season. It will be between us them Liverpool and Man City me thinks
  • If Solanke scores a goal that helps Bournemouth get a result v Sp**s today, then I will want to sign him over Toney.
Over to you then Sir Dom!

  • When asked how he felt about being a point off top four he remarked about being 3 points off the top. Credit to this guy, he’s a fighter
  • He's done great, I love his style of play.
  • If they have money to burn and manage to identify the right players in january, there is no reason why they shouldn't be preparing for a title challenge.
I haven't always been convinced by their gung-ho tactics but there is hard to argue against them probably being top of the league if they had not been ravaged by injuries. You could say that about a few teams this year though but I think Spurs has had the worst luck, and they still have probably amassed the most impressive points tally in relation to expectations
  • He comes across a decent guy with charisma. I think Spurs injuries might have to do with his methods though as they don't play that many games.
  • It’s beyond impressive what he’s done so far with a very average squad and players who couldn’t get a look in last year.
He’s 3 first team players and 3 decent bench options away from a very impressive squad.
  • Vicario has been their best player this season so far, surprised he is not getting talked about more.
  • What a job big Ange is doing!!
  • So many called Richarlison so wrongly early doors. He is really growing into the role now and deserves his props.
  • Another two injuries for Tottenham. Sarr and Veliz.
  • spurs the most entertaining team to watch in the PL IMO. end to end stuff every single match
  • I swear every time I watch them they have a player leave the pitch in tears
  • 8 points behind injury hit Spurs is pathetic

The arrogance of them after qualifying for the CL once in seven years. Goodness me.

"Lack of quality in the league", lol, league's never been more competitive.

Villa Talk
  • Come on Bournemouth. I'm sick of the utter wankfest over this Tottenham side.
  • Pundits are falling over themselves to put 3 or 4 of their players in team of the season and shoehorn 1 Villa player in because, to quote one pundit, "you have to when you see where the are in the league", bunch of patronising pricks.
  • I don't know how you can watch these other teams and the media wankfrenzy about them and their players.
  • Both Arsenal and Tottenham winning then..can't see those results changing.
Spurs generally score first and then run out of steam after 60 minutes. They will need a second
  • Spurs are so lucky.
    They'll probably sneak a second.
  • Grrrrrr! Tottenham. 2-0
  • Feck off Tottenham
  • God the media wankfest will be in full force now
  • Spurs are proper flukes. They are definitely our biggest threat
  • Ange needs to buy a lottery ticket.
How are they winning this 2 - 0.
Bournemouth must have an xG of like 4 or 5.
    Unbelievable.
  • Can’t stand spurs. How the hell are they only just behind us with such a depleted squad. Although I think they will fall away towards April
  • Can't see it. All their best players will be back soon. They will push the top 4.
  • Spurs' next really tricky fixture is against us in March. Glad that Son is going missing for a while.
  • 3-0 now, I don't believe the lucky barsquids
  • Spawny spuds
  • 3-0 Spurs
Which is weird because I haven't been particularly impressed by them today
  • If i were a Bournemouth fan i'd be raging.
Imagine playing like that and losing 3 - 0.
  • Tottenham’s attack is very good. They look shaky at the back but they always score goals. The danger is when Van de ven back and their defence looks good again.
  • Don't forget Romero.
    He'S cOmInG fOr YoU cAsH
  • **** Spurzzz
  • Spurs are on course for 74pts in 5th

Arsenal fans talking about a lack of quality in the league when they've won just 1 of their last 5 and Villa fans calling Spurs flukes just days after the softest late penalty in a while to beat Burnley.

Madness.

The "league lacks quality" argument is just fucking nonsense, we all have to play the same fucking teams for christ sake. And it's also very competitive this year, so I have no idea what those Woolwich fans are going on about...no change there then really.

Villa fans are easily the worst of the lot. Their lack of awareness is off the charts. Media wankfest over Spurs? We’re the ones with all the luck?! Unbelievable.

It seems like nearly every major club’s fanbase contains an element which think there is some sort of big media conspiracy/bias against them.

  • Both should be easy enough wins for Arsenal and Spurs.

Bentancur back for them is a huge boost.
Dont think Bournemouth is an easy game for anyone right now, especially for a side as limited as spurs.
  • Definitely the toughest league it's been in ages. The only easy away games these days are probably Sheffield United and Burnley. Even Luton isn't a given
  • They're also not good enough to sustain a title challenge all throughout the season.
People have been saying this about Villa and Spurs all season and yet they’re a gameweek or 2 from being above us.
  • I think I'd fancy Villa over Spurs to maintain it.
Son is going to be missing a few games now.
They need to sign 2 forwards to stay in the race in January as they haven't even replaced Kane yet.
  • Fighting with Spurs for a CL place???
  • I’ll tell you what, though, Ange is a breathe of fresh air
  • Had to laugh at him moaning about tiredness, not in Europe and out of the league cup after 1 game.
  • They just have this strange effect that makes people want to point and laugh. They don't even need to do anything, just be Spurs
  • won't finish any higher than last season, 'Ange' is tactically fucking awful
  • If that was a manager who'd had a few run-ins with the media, they'd be calling his style of management unbelievably naive. But because they all love him at the moment his style is brave
  • Spurs overplay the impact of injuries because it's not as if they're playing against sides without any injuries.
  • This a million times over.
Sick of hearing about injuries as an excuse for these. The media only too happy to echo what their crying fans are peddling online. Having both Romero and VanDeVen out at the same time is the first time they've really been in any way unlucky. Aside from that, they've had Maddison and Bentancur out for a few weeks and then basically a bunch of squad fillers (Sessegnon, Salomon, a way-over-the-hill Perisic) who'd hardly be getting a game. Their "crisis" has been massively overplayed, and frequently suspended players (not bad fortune, just dirty play) have been thrown in as evidence of how unlucky they are.
And as others have said, they've played less games than basically every other team in the league, and significantly less than any team around them in the table. The amount of excusing them is ridiculous, when we're top with five or six genuine first team options out.

The league from say 16th and up has never been better. There are more quality players across the sides than at any point before.

The argument comes from no team being outstanding enough to run away with it, which is a completely bullshit way of trying to measure a league's strength.

I’m highly amused by “big club” Villa fans getting angry 5 months in advance over journalists selecting their best 11 of the season

imagine having such chronic status anxiety that you even cared about it in may let alone now 😄

It's just continuity "haven't played anyone yet". Now we have and are still up there, it's only because the league isn't very good.

I'm sure they'll all remember to put an asterisk by their title if they win it...
