Sorry.....it's Kilpatrick!
Sorry my bad.....it's Kilpatrick !
You might not give a shit but I'm feeling helpful so I'll take a chance......

When you want to quote more than one post, go to the first post you want to quote and press the '+ quote' button located next to 'reply', then do the same to the second message. Then, hit 'insert quotes' located to the lower left hand corner of the message box, put the quotes in and away you go.

This post was brought to you by A&C, giving a helping hand wether you want it or not. If this was helpful to anyone else we'll put it down to collateral helpfulness and say no more about it, but we'll always have Berlin. ahhhhh Berlin. The secret handshakes, the nods, the winks, the suspense and danger which crackled through the air tinged with decadence, romance and buttplugs.

After a nights sleep I’ve come to the opinion that we have had a good transfer window, not brilliant but good.

My concern is that we were, at times, very poor last season, I think it’s the worst we have played under poch, barring his first season in charge. Mainly the first month of the season and then from January onwards. I’m talking about the league obviously not champion league run! I would say that a lot of this was down to the headache of the World Cup so we don’t have that to deal wit now.

But whilst most people on here are looking up at catching Liverpool and city , in my mind it’s looking back at the rest that we need to be aware of. Finishing in the top four again will be a lot about the points we take off the rest of the league and it’s these teams that keep trying to improve and work their way into the the top 6. Teams like Everton, Watford, spammers, Leicester, wolves etc. All good teams who are or have spent money. We need to keep significantly ahead of these.

I personally don’t think we will challenge Liverpool or city. I hope more than anything that I’m wrong but I think we have another battle with Chelsea and the scum to finish top four.

The main thing is that poch should be happy and that’s what we all want. The mans a legend.

I don’t post much but I’ve lurked in the threads over the last few weeks and in the 16 years I’ve been on SC and once again this place has been brilliant, so much fun. It really makes the transfer window

Eh. Im not sure theres a change at FB. Im not sure KWP or Aurier are worse than Tripps. We managed to keep Rose which is MASSIVE. Sessegnon should add depth at LB and WF.

This window hinges on Eriksen. If he signs on, its great. If he doesnt or is sold in the next few weeks, January becomes a month where Daniel will have to open those purse strings again in a big way.

Rose could still go abroad tho - PSG were sniffing

What's massive about keeping Rose, the guy refused to do pre season......
You're entitled to express your dislike of Danny Rose (although this probably isn't the thread for it) but why not get your facts right? He didn't 'refuse to do pre-season', he was left out of the travelling squad so he could find another club.

As you're feeling helpful is there any chance of getting the solution to the Raggedy Man cryptic?

It was deflating not getting the X factor player in Dybala. We could have done big things with a player like him. Need a right back, so gutted that Levy didn’t recognise this obvious weakness in our squad.

I get the feeling that was more Poch decision and he really rates Foyth, got to back the managers choice.

It's clear though he's wanted out by at least one key person at the club.
Personally never understood the Rose fan club. As an ex winger you'd of thought he'd have some idea how to put a cross to a team mate into the box.

Poch not levy, it’s clear he’s going to play Foyth there so we’ll see how he does

The thing is, both Ndombele and Lo Celso were tipped to go to the "biggest clubs" this summer.

I'm not sure there are many on here who thought we'd 100% be able to sign them, and yet we got our men.

They are X factor players, but have been slightly overshadowed by the romanticism of the Dybala chase.

Levy or Poch?

By all accounts wants to try Foyth at RB and give KWP more minutes. Dybala was an opportunistic punt.

JJ confirmed we signed all our targets so i’m sure Poch is happy.

Indeed. Before the window opened most of us would have been over the moon with Clarke, Sessegnon, Ndombele and Lo Celso + keeping Eriksen and TA.

We'll see what eventually happens with the former two but they are still among the best players in the PL at their respective positions and as of now they are still here. We have massively strengthened as I see it. We have signed young and incredibly talented players that were carefully identified and scouted.

Let the good times roll, I'm eager to see Pochettino integrating these new players.

Seriously doubted we'd get Ndombele. Seems to have gone off the radar a little bit over the last few days as to how important a signing that was with all the noise around Dybala. Top top signing

Only query I would raise about our player selection/scouting is why we are now paying top money for players that only recently moved for much lower fees and during a time when we apparently could find any players to improve our squad.

Lo Celso moved to Betis from PSG for a total of £22.5m less than 1 year ago
NDombele moved from Amiens to Lyon for less than £8m 13 months ago.

Anyone worked out Net spend for the window?

In - £145m

Ndombele £55m
Sessegnon £25m (plus JO)
Jack Clarke £10m
Lo Celso £55m (no way the option is not watertight)

Out - £28.5m

Trippier - £22m
Jansen - £6.5m

Net Spend - £116.5m

Yep say it twice! Although could reduce dramatically if Aurier, N’Koudou and Eriksen leave to foreign pastures new by the end of the month!

Try this:

Dembele £11m
Trippier £22m
Janssen £7m
= £40m

POTENTIALLY PLUS...

Nkoudou £15m
Wanyama £10m
Aurier £14m (rumoured)
Edwards £15m
Eriksen £60m
= £114m

£114m + £40m = £154m in sales.

Ndombele £63m (incl. add ons)
Sessegnon £25m
Jack Clarke £10m
Lo Celso £60m (incl. add ons)

= £158m in purchases.

So basically a zero net spend....

With the possibilities of lots of activity for us over the next few weeks regard to outgoings, will this section be kept open till the end of the European window? I expect the big saga between now and then will be wether Erikkssønn (sp) stays or goes.
