Ali z regarding Coutinho

Certainly Poch's first choice, do I see it happening, No

AND

Think financials are doable, just too late to get it done IMO, plus him and Eriksen are pretty much same player where as Le Celso and Fernandez could arguably play in same side as Eriksen, don't think Coutinhio could and we have no bid for Eriksen last I heard.

This all feel very familiar...

Deals getting a bit cold in the last few yards, Levy pissing off owners of other clubs, big name player sulking about a move away, issue with depth at a position, club still confident we will get a couple signings, random big names getting thrown into the mixer at the last minute,

Every year....it happens every year....and every year i sign up for the roller coaster.

Still holding out hope that we land a couple and make this one of the real fun rides this year....

Barca know that the PL is their best opportunity to get shot of him and they've been actively looking for a taker. If he's truly Poch's first choice and the financials are doable I don't see why the deal couldn't be done in two days. I know Levy drags his feet but we're down to the wire now and he's got to act. I disagree with Ali's tactical assessment but that's more a discussion for the player thread.

Can't help but wonder. :(
Put yourself in his shoes now, with what he asked for and what has been delivered and what has not and why it hasn’t. I have a feeling that Betis are now just refusing to deal with us, even if it spites their own face.
On top of that, apart from Ndombele, he has to pick a team for Saturday with the same problems apparent, already, from last season.
I think we are now a club that no other teams really want the bother of dealing with.
Being tough needs to be a measured thing, not an absolute end of everything.

Again, sounds like Eriksen is the piece that controls almost all things outside of Sess. That said, the financials being doable and him being the number one choice confuses me, because supposedly we have financials for Sess +1 at a minimum. Not sure why it would be too late except for getting the player to agree to terms.

The state of some of you. Take it all with a pinch of salt and see where we end up. As entertaining as it is, this cycle of tantrums, followed by glee, followed by more tantrums, starts to wear thin after the umpteenth time the same thing gets posted.

Because we are veterans of these transfer windows and we know how this ends. Sess announced on Thurs to placate us.

I am myself a veteran of many transfer windows but I feel optimistic about this window because we actually have money to spend also Betis NEED to sell GLC and Lisbon want to sell BF. Neither clubs are going to get anymore money from European sides once the prem window is shut so they're just posturing.

Fuck sake... some people really need to get a grip. People are losing their shit over a transfer window, we had a thread the other day dedicated to a SC member and the unfortunate passing of his mother. Please can people get some type of fucking perspective.

Go back and read the last 10 pages and get pissed off like the rest of us
Nope - I don't have a razor blade nearby and I can just sense the anger coming through my screen right now, so guess it's all gone to shit. NM, it is what it is - no point getting fucked off about things if we can't change what Levy does or doesn't do.

Barca also want rid of Coutinho. We've got some decent options for sure, just have to close at least one of the deals.

I think when looking at the info coming down, we also need to remember that we don’t know who the sources are, and this is especially worth remembering when the info comes with an emotive opinion attached. Source could be one of the agents the club works with, who is pushed off that we’ve shelved a bid for a player he’s been working on, or is delighted that we’ve made progress on a player he’s been working on. It could be someone close to the board, so the info will likely be spun in a pro Spurs way (e.g. vilifying outgoing player). It could even be a journalist who has his finger on the pulse but is trying to throw people off the scent of a story he is due to break. There are hundreds of avenues through which we get information, and it’s always passed on in good faith, having been severely vetted. Fact is, every bit of info we get, we get for a reason, and those reasons are not necessarily because the itks source is a purist believer in freedom of information. So just enjoy it, be grateful for the insight we do get, be aware that we only ever get a fraction of any given story and save the vitriol, histrionics and melodrama for when you have tangible, factual reasons to do so.

You actually missed the biggest source. Gladys the T lady. You cannot forget her the saucy minx

I think if we'd have won the Champions League, there would have been very little moaning about the transfer window in this forum, whatever happened..
The reason people are stressed is out of sheer frustration at being unable to win trophies for a protracted period of time, and the seeming lack of ability/ effort of the people in charge of the purse strings to alter that situation.
